It's more the rule than the exception, but it's still somewhat random. Some guys make good NT runs and keep their players anyway. Others get clobbered even if they don't have a good NT run (I just lost 5 EE's after a 2nd round exit). It's a part of the game that doesn't make much sense (as compared to reality), but it is what it is. If you are going to recruit the best players and have success, you pretty much have to expect guys to leave after their JR year and hope you don't lose them before that.

How does it look from moy23's neighbour, (a B-prestige school that tries too catch up) perspective ?

Should he get happy when moy23 loose player's in EE ? That's the question we should try to answer.

His joy from being able to knock off moy next season, should be tempered by the fact that he's not going to get a top recruit he would have had otherwise. In that sense, polo may have some points

There was a time when WIS stated that freshman & sophs weren't going out unless they were 'top' picks (whatever that meant). That seemed to go by the boards after a couple of seasons. But, given the way this game works, teams shouldn't be losing freshman or sophmores who have never started and average 5 points a game..... Maybe the solution would be to allow an opportunity for us to 'recruit' them back..

I have no problems with EEs, otherwise I'd be in D2. But I have a problem with the extreme effects of losing 4 or 5 (jeeees!) players to the draft on rosters of this size.....

I wished they capped the number of guys you could lose at 1 for a 1st/2nd round exit and 2 for non-championship game appearance. I think the EE help/hurt less the schools in the more crowded areas. My A+ prestige Syracuse team is getting the 4-6 top recruits in the Northeast each year, making it tough for nearby B+/B teams to have any top guys fall to them. A school like Colorado, however, which is at the mercy of recruit generation geography, can get really wiped out by a couple of EEs.

I have completely given up on explaning EE's. I used to have it down to a science. I could predict 80% of the EE's in any given world. Now? I have no clue how they decide who stays and leaves.

Riedel (TR 873, 14.3ppg, Conference POY) on my Utah team is a maxed out SO SG on a 100 RPI team who did NOT leave early.

Fisher (TR 884, 10ppg) is a maxed out SO SG on an Elite 8 Florida team who did NOT leave early.

I am positive that both of these players are in the top 50 overall talented players in their world. If Riedel , I would have made the assumption that his high ppg and POY honors played a factor on him leaving early. If Fisher then postseason obviously plays a large factor.

Since both of them stayed, I do not have any clue what the main factor is any more. I am happy as hell that they stayed, though. Darts anyone?

Jake - We had a nice chat with seble regarding EE's a while back, not sure if you noticed it.

OR - Completely agree, while if you get EE'd that like means you have a higher prestige which does likely mean you can recruit at a greater distance that is still very depandant on what recruits were randomly generated in your area.
