Resume / Bubble team / Kentucky in Allen Topic

I'm safe from (7): ACC, Big Ten, Horizon, Big 12, Big East, Conf USA, Southern

Borderline (7):
PAC 10: 104, 27
Big Sky: 78, 2
Sun Belt: 85, 17
Ivy: 61, 32
Mountain West: 117, 46
CAA: 73, 36
Summit: 223, 53

I'm screwed by (12): A10, WCC, Big South, Mizzou Valley, SEC, Mid-Eastern, MAC, Metro-Atl., Big West, Southland, Ohio Valley, Northeast

So I'm at RPI 54 and, best-case scenario, top 52 RPIs get in. On the dark side, Navy has the edge against us in ratings and IQ. On the bright side, we beat them 76-47 in Annapolis this season.

So I have to ask: WTF was going on with Kentucky's schedule this year?
12/2/2009 2:01 PM
Why be curious, jslotman? It's not like there's anything weird about a 792-average team scheduling 10 Sims...

i just got into the tark d2 tourney with vandyduke as an at large with a 65 rpi, thats a first for me

porkpower needed wins to protect his job.
12/2/2009 3:49 PM
I get that, but 10 SIM's? I think his best non-con game was around a 250 - he could have had wins against just about anybody this season.

ETA that I certainly didn't mean for this to be a callout porkpower thread; cornfused just highlighted the SEC and Kentucky's scheduling peaked my interest.

Pork's done that the last two years. Don't know if it was laziness or just annoyance with the game, but it definitely wasn't a strategic maneuver. (VD took a shot at him because pork's been needling him on their conference board for many seasons now, lol.)

I was gonna offer him a game for this season because it was clear he was gonna have a good team, but didn't after I saw he didn't have anyone else scheduled.

Wouldn't that help your RPI?

If that's really true, it's incredibly dumb on several levels and not like pork at all.

he didnt make the NT either of the previous two seasons, think he was worried. maybe he'll come in here and repeat his rationale.

Update on the bubble watch: I won my CT, but Wisconsin actually missed the NT with a 39 RPI. Ho-ly crap.
12/3/2009 2:41 AM
Oh, and six bids for the Big Sky.
12/3/2009 2:42 AM
Looks like Wisconsin got bit by all of those conference tournaments you were discussing earlier. Still, a 39 RPI and misses the tournament? How many Big Ten regular season champions would miss the tournament in the real world?
12/3/2009 6:09 AM
I'm sorry, I take back my previous statement. Elon made the NT over Wisconsin. ELON.

HD system fail.
