only reason conf prestige might play a role, is post season dollars can almost be like having 3 extra scholies - since you usually don't know what the post season dollars are (allthough I suppose you could figure it out), it is a pretty safe assumption prestige will give you a tip in terms of how much extra cash the school has

Really? Hmmm...another gap in my thinking. I think I'll send a ticket to confirm. Will post answers. Thanks Z.

Conference prestige definitely helps the ACC in Allen this year. I don't think anybody in that conference has lost a battle.

or was it the 50k in post season money? or was it the fact they don't battle each other, which is becoming a pretty common success theme in this entire game if you watch for it (packs of coaches who hunt together, no drafts, no sitemails or emails, just a careful watchful eye, nothing illegal about it)

Well, I was figuring 50k in postseason money kind of under the "prestige" category. I do think it's interesting that ACC schools in Allen can easily recruit outside the typical distance radious without issue. Granted that is how it works in real life, but it's not generally like that in HD, is it?
12/17/2009 9:45 AM
If you avoid battles and are careful you can recruit longer distances.

with 3 extra scholies of money and little reason to compete local (why mess with another guy with 50k extra), you can pretty much go up to 1300 or 1400 miles with little effort, it is just good sound strategy on their parts!

The ACC had an extra $50,000 each and were able to recruit nationwide with little resistance. I watched Wake and GT the entire time trying to pick off a morsel or two as they had more than they could sign.... their pockets were just too deep and they had so few battles, it was a large cash drain for nada. They dained me and didn't even know I was there lurking...

I generally benefit from this as much as anyone, but I have given seble an idea or two to bulletproof recruiting a little at least (simple ideas), I have some more complicated ideas that would even work better,

but this is not a subject seble is interested in, at least right now. the little he shared with me, scared me, as he seems to be interested in using the delimna model to fix recruiting rather than the $ / prestige based auction idea that tarek installed.

This guy is as clueless as tarek

Holy cow, you spent $38,000 on Flood and didnt even make the list? That's crazy. I'm really interested to see what Trink spent. I think it will answer the question of what favorite school is worth.

And its NOT minimal. Must be worth at least 10%.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more.

seble has done a very good job listening to us (compared to tk especially) I think that he would very quickly (through beta testing) that delimna's are gone for a very good reason.

What are your ideas OR? I am interested. I have shared my idea for fixing potential many times, which I think would also help recruiting in an indirect way.

Dilemma's are HORRID. Who wants to recruit someone and get all excited just to have them get drunk and kill themselves in an accident?

Might be realistic, but NO FUN! Just like major injuries to high durability players. Possible? yes. Fun? NO.
12/17/2009 10:30 AM
Well, thing is, if Dilemmas were in there it would in a large part be YOUR choice if you suffered from them based on the type of player you decided to recruit.

Personally, I'm neutral on them depending on implementation.
