do you have any proof of this? and what's the break even point?

does 5/32 beat 3/30? 5/35? 5/40?

i'm not sure there's any complex formula and the sim just picks the max total value that meets the minimum yearly salary.

If Damon receives a 5 yr max deal, that is the offer he would accept, but who is crazy enough to dish out that kind of dough for a middle reliever?

Are you sure, Z.....remember Woolf last season? You could get lucky....

All it takes is one.

4/40 > 3/30 > 4/39

Yea, but you tricked me on Woolf. I've waited too long to resort to such trickery now; I'm just gonna have to pay for Damon I think. The real shame is that I would have been able to set the Twins up very nicely ($$-wise) for the next 3-4 seasons if I'd been able to extend him at the $7.5M number.

So you think the highest per year deal will always win, with # of years being a tie-breaker (longer = better) for those of equal per year value?

I got boned on Weaver, if it makes you feel any better. Bastard said after rollover he just wanted to make the playoffs at this point in his career so I offered him what he wanted, to which he responded "I'm testing FA no matter what, you had the chance to sign me last season"....which is untrue, since he wouldn't negotiate with me last season.....

If the player is asking for 3 yrs in their initial demands yes. If they are asking for 4 years and you lower your offer to 3 years than no.

For a player seeking a 3 year deal: 4/40 >3/30 > 4/39

OK, according to this though, you don't seem to think that per year value is the primary criteria, since the 5-year, $110M deal is not the best per year value deal.

So then, here, since Damon is asking for 2 years, you think the $50M/2 year deal will beat the $110M/5 year deal?

have you ever seen a superstud FA sign a 2/50 deal?

if you assume that mikeT and sdhizzle aren't full of shiit, this probably would have happened at least once.

Same thing happened with me p-nut, on 3 players. Even my type B's wont negotiate with me now

I was thinking this same thing, but there's also the fact that I'm not sure I've ever seen a superstud ask for a 2-year deal before.

Not the "full of **** part" - the 2-year $50m deal part.
