All-Star appearances are interesting. Basically, you just have to be one of the top TWO at your position in your league during a given season. That may sound easy, but depending on how stacked that position is, you might never make it even if you're the 3rd best 2B for ten straight years.
It ain't like MLB where they can take 5 firstbasemen because they're just pinch hitters or DHs. In Ruth, only 13 players hit the 7 All-Star Game threshhold, and since Marvin Aurilia dominated the ASG selections for his entire career, THREE guys hit 600 homers and didn't make more than 3 ASGs.
