I understood what you meant and you are still wrong as is WIS.

2.02 per game where it was would be one of the most prolific HR seasons in MLB history.

It should have gone even lower.

This is just plain stupid. Nobody should hit 50+ every year yet every league has guys that do.

And yes I have guys like that and it still sucks

The difference seems to be that most of us who feel it was headed in the right direction, meaning it needed to be tweaked but the amount of HR's was not the real problem, won't whine about how we are going to quit so WIS will ignore the facts and cater to the whiners.

anyway this whole thread was created to poke fun at WIS and the way they caved and now I'm bored with it.

Ah what the hell 1 more thing. Babe Ruth, who was a pretty darn good home run hitter and would be better than 45/95/42/45/37 never topped 59 HR's 4 seasons out of 5. As a matter of fact he never toped 49 in 4 seasons out of 5.

Others who never hit 59+ 4 seasons out of 5: Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, Albert Puljos, The Howards (Ryan or Frank), Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey jr, Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle, Mel Ott, Ralph Kiner and Mark McGwire.

I agree crickett. The number of home runs hit in WIS is absolutely ridiculous. I don't care that there are a large number of teams trotting out useless bums who should be pitching in AA, ML teams do it too. There is no way we should see a SS with 80 power hitting 50 bombs. 50 homers should be reserved for the elite power hitting all-stars who are going to be in the HoF.

Ruth did hit more HR then entire teams

don't give up crickett13, keep fighting the good fight...unfortunately, i think that the people who are in favor of the re-adjustment have no idea what is historically "normal"...the ~2 HR/G is pretty well in line with post-testing baseball and as you've noted, still higher than pretty much the entire history of baseball...i've actually read where people say "thankfully admin has come to it's senses and HRs will return to a more realistic level"...this just boggles my mind, but hey, if you like Brady Anderson turning into Babe Ruth, HBD is again going to be the game for you

HBD has been around 15 or 16 seasons. Baseball has been around over 100. We probably shouldn't have as many eras in HBD as baseball does in 1/8 of the time.

How many SP go 4-16 with a 5.9 ERA 4 years out of 5? My point being, some pitchers just blow in HBD that keep on being used.

And you wonder why there are so many home runs.
1/27/2010 10:57 AM
perhaps some of those ERA #s are inflated by the excessive amount of HRs...also Carlos Silva, Livan Hernandez, Adam Eaton

let's consider a hypothetical...say such a world exists, that completely maximizes it's talent, so that no player with 3+ pro years who is ML worthy lingers in the minors and every other player in the minors is at best equal to the worst MLer...now admin has stated that the intended HR rate is going to be 2.4/G...in our hypothetical world, what would the HR rate be?...my guess is that it couldn't be lower than 2.2/G (and i am not yet convinced it would definitely be lower than 2.4)...that would make this hypothetical world play like MLB at the height of the steroid era, a curious outcome considering the admin's pronouncement that "the steroid era is over"

i should also mention in my hypothetical i'm assuming this world would use all MLB ballparks plus two more neutral parks

So, you're questioning ADMIN's motives based on your "guess"???!?!?! Good to know.
