Once you get in the B range you need a strong SOS and some postseason wins. At least in my experience.

until and unless a mid major conference can get a good set of human coaches - and keep them there - its hard to get the prestige high for anyone - the weak SIMs pull down the conference prestige and therefore each school's

so, it is hard to get high prestige without a committed bunch of other humans - unless you move to a BCS

Hmmm, let's see ... I've won titles at Mansfield in Naismith, Michigan State and Wisconsin in Allen, Western Michigan in Tark and Central State in Wooden.

And none of them were embarrassingly cherry-picked like yours.
