He won back-to-back Cys twice, and 4 total in a 6 season stretch, and they were all legitimate Cy Youngs (worst WHIP 1.20 in any Cy season). That ought to be enough, regardless of the rest of his career. The thing to me about Mullins is that he played his whole career, more or less, in Colorado, which ought to count against him a bit. But still, back-to-back-to-back MVPs is hard to say no to...

Interesting to note that the first ever HOFer was a 3-pitch SP.

There was alot of debate on putting Baxter in the hall because of his ERA, but he was dominant when he was pitched correctly. He was easily on of the top 5 pitchers in the league.

There was no debate on Mullins, although he did play in a hitter friendly park and stack up all his homeruns and RBI in a time when we were all still learning the game. It is also important to note the league started when he was in his prime, not to play what if but he did lose many seasons of his career.

Interesting that "Hall of Fame" does not show up on the player's award page.

Seems like kind of a biggie in terms of awards.

Had I first three inducted into MG. They rec'd 29, 28 and 17 votes so the third just sneaked in.

I'm sure this was mentioned in one of the other threads but a nice addition would be a full ballot. I think it would be rather useful to know if the guy you nominated received your vote, and only your vote, or if he had 11-12 to just fall short.

I second that.

Were there any 5-6 season type that got voted in Mike? I'm curious if guess on pre-world creation played a roll.

That's good. I would hate to see a player who only got 1100 hits and hit .290 get into the HOF. I hope it works that way in the worlds I'm in.

.340 over .600 slugging. That's a different puppy. I'm looking more down road and I don't want to go, "what the hell is that guy doing in here?"
2/15/2010 1:37 PM
Though I wish it was like MLB where you need 75% of the vote?

I'm with you on that. I don't want to induct a guy today because he was 3rd in career wins with 147 only to go "WTF?" after S22.

But, if a guy has a .340 average and an OPS over 1.000 with 4000 AB, I have tough time saying he's not worthy. But, evidently, 16 other owners in MG didn't feel the same way.
