An owner changing cities, that's it? Hmm. If no hard rule was in place I don't see a huge problem with it.

But why not abide by the vocal minority? Assuming the rest didn't voice one way or another. Still, doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me.

But the way Knuckle explains it, a hard rule (theme world) was in place.

The issue mainly started because cbriese mistook a vocal minority in the WC as meaning "if we held a vote, it would lose". Which is not the case because we all know not everyone voices their opinions in WC. cbriese announced the rule change (admittedly, the rule is not the most important of the world), and when dissenters started asking for a vote instead (a very simple process we all thought we were entitled to--we have voted on rule changes in the past) he belittled them and issued ultimatums like stop disagreeing with me or get out.

The actions of the commissioner, not the rule change, have caused at least 5 owners to leave the world post-rollover, including the world's original commissioner and founder. And now cbriese belittles them further in the recruitment thread.

it seems that making friends around these parts isn't seabreeze's first priority...either that or he sucks at it.

THE DEATH OF WORLD SEABREEZE

Whiners, all. If another owner moving his team from Buffalo to Pittsburgh after six seasons so changed their enjoyment of the game, then their lives are pretty pathetic.

It has nothing to do with someone moving and everything to do with how you handled the issue. This all could have been avoided if you tried to be a little less of a jerk toward people who disagreed on a legit matter.

I am in the league, and am sticking around, but I agree with tj and soursurfer, that it isnt the allowing of the move, or the move that made people leave. People questioned the decision and you decided to take the stance of "If you dont like it, tough..." instead of trying to be more diplomatic. Once this happened, people started dropping like flies.

I am still sticking around, but if the rollover drags on after being down to 1 opening, and now up to 7, I may just have to move on too.

And knucks and sour, we'd love to have you back in the NL West, would love to have you guys change your minds and come back

Sounds pretty pointless on all counts.

Just another data point in tracking the ongoing pussification of the American male.

I'd love to be back, goodtymes. I enjoy the league, love our division, and think my team can be pretty good this year. But cbriese would have to be removed as commissioner. Tough sell, I think.

The funniest thing about it is that people have no problem bringing back owners that don't meet the minimum win standard, but they ***** about moving cities? Talk about misplaced priorities...

I hate to post openly like this, but I feel very responsible for this situation. Had I known that my trade chat asking to move from Buffalo (after having only 1 winning home record 41-40 in 6 seasons while missing the playoffs by only a few games in multiple seasons) was going to create such a firestorm I would have held off making such a request. Although I did publicly state in the world chat that if it were that big a deal I would be unhappy about it but abide by the decision. I typically try to stay out of world chat arguments, being the commish of Long Haul R Us I understand the pressure of doing things in the best interest of the league, but this whole situation has been very unfortunate because of my 5 leagues this was one of the most active and had one of the best groups of owners.

What can we do to solve the problem folks, because the problem needs to be solved, we need to get our great owners back, we need to re-establish our priorities and stick to them, and we need to get back to enjoying this game.

The funniest thing about it is the fact that there is a thread about it.
