i paid $4.5 million for a guy who made $550k the previous season - i got one of the top 3 FI's in our world (the change happened after hiring) - i budgeted specifically to get a coach like this and chose sacrifices elsewhere

i like the idea behind the change but from what i have seen and heard it was a typical overcorrection and they made too many FI's with too high ratings...

there should be at least a few teams that are out of the 70+ guys and if i want to spend $4 million on my FI i don't think there's anything wrong with me having a much better one than the guy who spends $500k

It seems like you can "not worry about hiring a FI coach, and let it fill for the "last remaining" and still get a decent one for 400k now...way too easy

I'm in a world where budgets were just set. It looks like 4 FI's have been re-hired, 16 of the remaining ones are rated 80+, 7 more are 74-79, and numbers 28-32 are 64, 61, 59, 58, 53.

Doesn't look like an overcorrection to me.

That would be almost "normal" which would be acceptable in a World.

Until guys start signing FI as BC. I do this all the time, and in leagues where multiple people do it, the field thins out a little more. To be fair, I don't think they really had to do this. I think discouraging FI from accepting offers as BC would have been a better fix.

What they really need to do is add more 1B coaches. Or at least a few 3B coaches who might want to coach 1B BEFORE THE LAST CYCLE.

If I can get a 75 FI and 80 everything else for the minimum, I don't know why I'd pay more.

The entire coach hiring process is irritating and inconsistent. We don't have to hire individual scouts using our high school, college, international, or advance scouting budgets. We don't have to hire trainers or team physicians using our training or medical budgets. So why are we hiring individual coaches?

Perhaps others can enlighten me as to the "fun" of this facet of the game.
