There is a guy in my World closest to completion who has 30 (+) plays at 1B (Steve Weaver) but his defense is well above "pretty good" for a 1B, with 74 range, 89 glove, 63 arm strength, and 66 arm accuracy.

Isn't he just a little more skilled than most other 1b, I'd guess that's why he leads in +plays.

Catchers at 1B and others with very low range and gloves are getting tons of minus plays since that last update...

You play in Iowa City (-2 across the board). He's plenty good enough in that park.

hokies, look at the fielding stats for Vernon Jones in our league. I had him during his prime and his hitting/fielding numbers were very comparable, and thanks to quality pitching and park factor he had a called ERA around 3.7 to 4.0 for 6-7 seasons straight. You'll get the same once your good pitchers mature fully.

This has not been my experience. Can you provide any examples?

This guy racked up 27 '+' plays in Moneyball in about 180 starts at 1B since the update. I assume because of his 65 range.

Thanks gjello10. That seems harder than it should be.

Interesting, zbrent. I think you are correct, I should have looked before posting. In the two leagues that I'm in now the top 5 in '+' plays are a CF, SS, 3B, 3B and in the other the top 5 are SS, SS, 2B, SS, 1B.

And for the record, my Moneyball team doesn't have anyone exceptional in anything...at least not exceptionally good.
