How quickly do you think it will take Bill Self to send in a ticket and then come in here to start a thread ******** if he loses?

I am a mizzou fan who picked Kansas. I wouldn't mind losing my bracket to see that happen. That said Bill Self is the best coach in the country right now because he can recruit and his teams play great D. They will not lose before the elite 8. After that anything can happen.

Of course it's not going to happen, but someday, somehow a one seed is going to lose, and with just how mediocre the top teams have been this year, why not 2010? I don't think Kansas is the obvious choice though, that would be Syracuse. If folks recall from earlier this year, Syracuse did lose an exhibition to a D-3 team, and were down by 20 to DePaul before storming back to win that game. Plus, there's history there - who doesn't remember Syracuse losing to Vermont in 2004?

However, Taylor Coppenrath isn't coming through that door. Still, I'd love to see it happen.

IF KU loses in the 1st round I, as a Mizzou fan, j*zz my pants for a week straight.

Not only has a top seed never lost but a 13 seed or lower only wins 1.5% of the time over the last 20+ seasons and none make it past the second round. So everyone taking Siena over Purdue, good luck with that.

This thread reminds me of all the similarities and coincidences between the Lincoln and Kennedy assassinations. Break out the tinfoil hats.

newmex, you apparently haven't seen Purdue play since Hummel went down. They are a wounded animal.

And if memory serves, there have been a few 13 seeds make it to the sweet 16 (Valpo in 1998, and I think Tulsa did it 1993).

According to Wikipedia, two #14 seeds have made the sweet 16: Cleveland State in 1986 (who beat my beloved Hoosiers in the 1st round) and Chattanooga in 1997.

I was in Charlotte for the opening rounds of that Chattanooga run in 1997 with improbable wins against Georgia and Illinois. The best part of that weekend was that Providence absolutely drummed Duke after Duke barely squeaked by Murray State in the opening round.

Based on what jweb just posted, newmex's stats from a few posts back can't be even remotely accurate.

100 wins by #1 + 96 wins by #2 + 85 wins by #3 + 79 wins by #4 = 360 wins by top 4 seeds out of 400 games.

360/400 = 90%

That means the 13-16 seeds have won 40/400, or 10%

10% does not equal 1.5%. newmex is trying to teach us new math.
