I actually picked Montana over New Mexico. Steve Alford sucks.

It was not. (Well that might be a correct stat, but not the one we are speaking of) They said in the UNI game with about 4-5 minutes that it had been years since a MVC team made the S16.

Cornell is a IVY league school, kentucky will buy the $10 tickets Cornell will get the court side $100+ tickets.

No, I was just saying that that was the correct stat ... I'm not doubting that some announcer flubbed it.

Go Panthers. I was born in Cedar Falls and mt dad used to work for UNI in the early 80's. Hail to the Panthers.

Someone definitely said no MVC team had made the Sweet 16 since 1979. Definitely a research department fail.

Cornell has easily been the most impressive team in the tournament so far considering they absolutely throttled two genuinely good teams. Kentucky demolished a low-major and head-case Wake, but Cornell's played the best basketball. Playing in Syracuse should mean they'll have a ginormous crowd advantage. Plus, that place is a dome and I would think if there were tickets available, the locals would be willing to spend a few duchats to get themselves within earshot of history.

I'd take any of Northern Iowa, St. Mary's, or Cornell in the Final Four. I surely would.

Kentucky, winning first, had a head start on getting tickets and no school travels better than Kentucky. You'll be surprised how much Blue is in the arena. At the SEC tournament in Nashville, everytime Tennessee played their fight song, Kentucky fans competely drowned out the band with 'Go Big Blue!" Syracuse is a lot farther away, of course

Does anybody know just how many seats they are going to sell at the Carrier Dome? I would think for a basketball game the potential capacity has to be like 60k or so if they chose to sell that many tickets.

I should say that the capacity at the Carrier Dome for basketball is apparently a lot lower than I had thought because of the configuration. In any event, as of this morning, there were still like 10k tickets for Thursday's game, but the locals weren't buying because - DUH - the selection committee placed Syracuse in a region that would be playing at the same time as the regional in Syracuse.
