I guess my point is, don't you think there would be more regular players for this thing if there were a few D1 only worlds? A lot of us are engrossed in the game because we've played it for 6 years, but to a newbie who may or may not continue with the game...D1 is more attractive than D3. I'd rather coach Brown than Baruch and I think newbies would as well.

While we're at it, can we make jobs and chicks more attractive too? I understand the concept, but can we just wait for the new release and get comfortable with the new changes before we start tearing up the current D3-D2-D1 game which many enjoy..

I still want an NAIA world :)

It's the possibility of progressing from DIII to DI to hopefully my alma mater someday that really attracted me to HD.

to accomplish what you are after, kernel, i think you would have to make users "qualify" for this new world. x number of seasons, or x number of wins, winning percentage, bpi rating ;-) etc.

either that, or it would have to be "invitation only" like a private hbd world.

I like the concept, but not sure it will ever get done.

also, wouldnt WIS profit something more along the lines of $35,000 (not $3,500) if all 348 users were purchasing 10packs (at roughly $100..right?)

Of course, there is the possibility that these users would drop other team(s) to fund their participation in this one.

And, what is the plan if 100 users just stop coaching their teams (either quitting or semi-quitting) in year 3 when they realize they are not able to compete? (I think it was OR who first championed the "someone's got to lose" theory.)

My math was bad, oops lol. If people stop coaching their teams, oh well...if you're not going to coach a team at D1 that you forked over $100 for, then you're an idiot.

i agree those folks may be idiots, but there will definitely be some. 100 may be a bit high. but there will will be a fair number of coaches that will basically throw in the towel after they realize they cant compete.

just curious as to how colonel, or others, think that issue should be handled (in the unlikely event that such a world ever becomes a reality)

a) let sim take over

b) just let the team go on auotpilot

c) have some kind of system whereby a coach could sell the rights to his team including all remaining credits.

d) something else?

I mean, back when I started in WIS, you had to WALK uphill to get on the internets in order to post your moves and then WALK UPHILL on the way home.

And back in the day we all had to survive all the famous glitches and goofs and loopholes....

How about they open a DI only world but say that it is WOMENs HD. Can you recruit the next Candyce Parker, can you be the next Geno Aureillemio.......
