Is Bench public or private?

Private.

I'm not looking so much for sympathy as to add to the number of folks that express their concern to WIS - if the commisoner of a private league can't boot someone midseason why have any rules of conduct at all.

I wonder if said owner paid by VISA/MC and threatened to have the latest transaction with WIS reversed if the team was not returned.

If the world allows an owner like that to return, it's on the World.

Again, he's halfway thru his 4th season of tanking.

Say you caught your wife cheating on you for the 4th time. You've had enough and you pop her one. Do you think the judge is going to be sympathetic when you say "Your honor, this is the 4th time this year I caught her cheating on me. I had to do something!"?

I would expect that if found guilty and sent to prison that my appeal would fall on deaf ears. I wouldn't expect a mulligan and allowed to hit her again.

The police were called (late) - took the cheater out of the house - we remarried and then we were told our new civil union was anulled.

This was the first time we brought this to the attention of WIS - they found him guilty - they accepted our replacement - then they said April Fool's.

irrelevant.

EDIT: physical abuse of cheating spouse is in no way comparable to booting a tanker. you've made your point about the league doing a crap job of policing. i think the point here is that WIS doesnt back up their own policies. my guess is, even if this was his first season of tanking in that league, admin wouldve done the same thing.

No, it's actually not.

If you allow a certain behavior over and over again, you can't expect people to say "Yeah, you're right" when you finally have had enough. You've allowed him to repeat the process twice(after the first time) and now, while he's working on it for the 4th time, you expect people to care. As you can see, most are saying "Why did you let him keep coming back?"

The solution isn't a mid-season replacement. The solution is to boot his *** after the season because you should have done it two seasons ago. He was warned after the first time, he did it again. He was still allowed back. Shockingly, he's doing it again.

too long, no read

Booting people who've paid their money is bad business. It should only be done in extreme cases.

Has anyone offered to refund his money and have him removed? Work out a deal. If you tell the tanker and WifS that he won't be allowed back for next season, he may accept an offer for mid-season compensation. Worst case scenario is he gets ****** and attempts to sabotage his team. If that happens, WifS will remove him and reverse what they can.

No one cares if you read it, Ben. You're irrelevant.

I'm not sure if this is an example of MikeT being bored or wrong - I'm betting bored.

Are you saying that it's good business to publish rules of conduct and not to enforce them because the cost of those stated policies is a hit on your bottom line?
4/2/2010 1:49 PM
A single season isn't a big hit to the bottom line.

What I'm saying is you, your world or your commish created an enviroment. Mid-season, you, your world or your commish decided that that enviroment was no good. Which is great. I despise tanking. I'm removing owners from worlds I commish for tanking. However, in my mind, you're attempting to steal from your tanker. You, your world or your commish let him do something for three seasons. Now you, your world or your commish wants him gone halfway thru version IV of his tank job. That's wrong. Remove him at the end of the season. You should have done it after the 2nd one.

I fully agree with Mike on this. So does WiS it seems. Even though it's fishy how WiS removed the tanker, accepted a replacement and then went back on that, this guy should have never have been let back for season 14. Now you just have to wait out this season.

while i agree he should never have been allowed to return since this is a private world, however admin has a history of this behavior...in Maris (public) it happened twice, when the second tanker was allowed back in 7 long-term owners (comprising like 70 years in the world) and have basically swore off public worlds...it's a shame they won't enforce their own rules and allow 1 or 2 owners to spoil the experience for the majority
