Fair Play Guidelines? Topic

I am looking to find a new commish for Fingers. And we don't even have anti-tanking guidelines... this change strongly suggests that unique world rules of any sort cannot be enforced.

A world can have unique rules. This regards ways to get rid of a tanking owner mid-season, IMHO.

A commish can prevent an owner from renewing, for failure to meet the world's unique rules.

wait, somebody clarify this for me. does this mean i can not remove an owner at rollover without admins consent?

i am hoping this is the correct interpretation and only deals with mid-season removals. you can always expel someone after the season based upon a violation of internal rules.

that is the way I read it. Iff that is not what they meant (or was what they meant and now are having 2nd thoughts) they need to clarify it quick

I have to figure, given the handful of recent, well-publicized incidents regarding tanking owners.

wow, if thats the case, i have spent my last dollar on this site. no joke.

You support allowing owners to tank indefinitely during a season?

sanderbear, the language of "no exceptions, even for private worlds at the start of a new season" makes me think this applies to rollover.

And my concern is, if you can't not approve an owner for tanking below world standards, you probably won't succeed in removing him for making a budget transfer/making a cash trade/etc. not allowed by world rules either.

I cant see how it can be interpreted like that.

Why specify that it is applicable for private worlds at the beginning of the season? That's the only time a private world ever really had the opportunity to boot an owner other than the abandonment rule.

"no exceptions, even for private worlds at the start of a new season"

i repeat....

"no exceptions, even for private worlds at the start of a new season"

The words "during rollover" aren't used. I don't think that's what they meant. I think they mean from the point a new season begins, after the rollover is over.

In other words, from the point that budgeting, FA signing, arbitration begins ... to the end of the season.

That's what I'm hoping and what I initially thought. Others are convincing me that I'm rather wrong.

I hope you're right as well and you could be. Wording is another thing WIS isn't great at.
