Pos X Pos Draft: Get your teams in! Topic

Quick question - when you say we're doing two rounds a day, that means that as long as our time has come up for that day, we could post two picks at once, say for rounds 3 and 4?

No, it doesn't work quite that way.

For most of us, our pick in round 2 is half an hour earlier than our pick in round 1. We'd actually make our 2nd round pick before our first round. But in your case, you move to the end of the round for the 2nd round, so your 2nd round pick is the very last one of the round. You have to wait for all the other teams to complete their 2nd round before you can pick.

In many cases, we can catch up and a large number of people will actually have their picks line up. This is not a rule, just an observation of what happens. Just follow the draft and I am sure you will be fine. The forum is finally set up and we are ready to go.

winnetka1 is up, although he is not officially on the clock until Monday. Let's please not get upset or aggravated if people do not draft until Monday. This is their choice.

Hey Bilfert. It looks like with the first pick, you deleted the name of the owner who picked:

ROUND 1: Monday April 26, 2010
1B (Minimum 500PA/162)

1. 10:00 1932 Jimmie Foxx
2. 10:30 winnetka1

I think it would be helpful if you could leave the owner name there. What do you think?
4/22/2010 5:34 PM
Not sure why it would be helpful, makes no difference to me.

Thanks for putting it in there. I'm just an information guy, I guess. I can't remember ever being in a draft where the record of picks didn't include the names of the owners who made the picks.

Round 1

1927 Lou Gehrig, 1B

Round 2

Guys....

Bilfert just totally changed the rules of the league with his sitemail "clarifying" that we could only draft players by their primary positon.

The original rules clearly stated any position at which the player was rated, not their primary position. I personally prepared for this draft with that in mind, because I loved the "hosing" of other players that this implied.

If I had the first pick, my pick would have been 1923 Babe Ruth. It would have been a great 1b, and hosed the guy wiht the first OF pick. I loved that concept.

I do not like the rule change, especially once the draft has started, even off the clock.

I'd like to call for a vote on this rule change, rather than just have the rule changed. I don't know if I want to play in this league with this rule changet, it's no where near as interesting to me, it's just pick the best player available.

Other opinions?

It's Bilfert's league, and his clarification came before the draft began, so I see no problems. How much research did you really have to do, anyway?

Furthermore, as the guy with the "first OF pick" you want "hosed" I disagree with you on basic principles.

Guess that I would tend to agree w/ you(biglenr)...We're never fond of last minute rule changes...I signed up for;

"For hitters, they must be rated at the Primary Position being drafted in the year you are selecting."

Seemed reasonable then, seems reasonable now...

But we'll stay/play either way...

I read it the same way as calhoop...the Draft is supposed to be position by position.
