Then after they commit they get people to take the SAT for them. Its ridiculous!

the same way UNC uses Michael jordan for the last 10+ years.

even if the lebron thing is true to a small degee, its not against the rules. other teams do it with players as well, and u cant provide one proof of evidence that UK has cheated.

UK doesn't pay anybody. Judging from what recruits and their parents have said, the selling points are these:

1. Calipari isn't real strict. Dribble-drive puts the player in control. It's the opposite of when Gillispie was there, and what you'll experience with other "my way or the highway" coaches.

2. You get to be coached by former NBA players on staff.

3. You're guaranteed the best pipeline to the League through World Wide Wes and his network.

The requirement for the recruit is to commit to staying eligible and completing coursework spring semester, so UK can keep all its scholarships for the next year and keep the pipeline going. And the player is asked to consider coming back to finish his degree and work out with the team during the NBA summers. Calipari was pretty good at Memphis at getting guys to come back to work on their degrees.

Parents and players understand this is a good deal.

Come on man, don't be that naive. EVERY big name school is dirty to some degree, it just comes down to who hides it better, that's all.

IU fans chiming in about ethics, please where is Kelvin Sampson.....oh wait why he is on the phone! Before that the "General" Bob Knight who knows what is right for all of the college basketball world. When he is not avoiding prosecution in Puerto Rico, throwing chairs or whipping players.

Lets not get carried away that the IU resurection is behind schedule. Why IU isn't even the most storied program in Indiana anymore that goes to Butler.

College basketball in general is going down hill with the proliferation of one and doners, however KY and Cal didn't create the system. The kids are responding to a system created by adults to quote Tom Izzo.

Sadly, high schoolers don't know the history of many of the schools. They only know who they've seen on TV and who's a winner. After 3 or 4 bad seasons, it's like your history is erased.

That's why the next 2 years are crucial for Indiana

1. Coach Knight donated millions upon millions of dollars back to Indiana University, most of it to help support the library system. He was a model citizen, and he was never remotely suspected of any improper conduct regarding recruiting players.

2. Sampson was a mistake, one that'll take us forever to recover from.

3. Butler's short term history is better, of course, but they don't have 5 NCAA championship banners or 20 Big Ten championships.

4. I agree with your last paragraph.

Internet B.S. are statements like, "Teague picked U.K. because his brother got a shoe contract with Nike." The first place I read this was on a Louisville fan's blog.

Nike does NOT care where Teague goes to school. If they did, he'd go to Oregon.

1) Nike founder Phil Knight ran track for Oregon.

2) He’s the chief donor for Oregon’s new $200 million dollar arena, which is named for his son Matthew Knight. It’s the most expensive on-campus arena in history and Knight provided $100 million to pay for it

3) Regarding the search for a basketball coach, Knight said he gets updates from A.D. Kilkenny “every couple of days or so… I think we’re going to get a good coach”

If Nike is willing to spend big bucks to lure Tom Izzo or Billy Donovan to Oregon, they sure aren't going to spend money to send a player to Kentucky.

the NBA has created the "1 and done" player with their idiotic rule, so if you want elite talent at the NCAA level then that is what you will get.
