turn reward points into credits - Topic

my reply

Or - more fairly put - HD has made the chances of recovering on outstanding reward points balances remote - moving the goalposts.

As a matter of good customer service, old balances should be convertible into credits pro rata, but WIS has the choice whether to be nice to customer or not

its sort of as if an airline had a frequent flyer miles program and you were close to a free ticket, but they then announced that no miles would be earned after a certain date EXCEPT on first class round trip flights from Chicago to Paris - your frequent flyer miles still exist and you can still collect on them - as soon as you fly first class from Chicago to Paris....or - if one were being more honest - the outstanding balance of unused reward points/frequent flyer miles that are not yet redeemable has just been cancelled out - effectively taken away.....

not smart to **** off a customer with several teams over $9

I think you need to push past the initial CS person on this and get to seble. I think seble is pretty pragmatic about this kind of stuff.

Also, they may have been thrown by your use of the word churlish.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was seble that replied to him...A majority of my tickets have been answered by admins and not CS people. Again, another representation of WIS' top of the line CS....

So in FD's case...he has 1450 over points....multiply that by the magic number (0.00667) and he should/could have a $9.67 credit to his account.

Hell I'd even accept 0.0065 cents per point, and that screws us out of 20 cents per se because that comes out to $9.75 per 1500 points, which I still find very fair. The main problem here, which WIS is being belligerent about, is the inexhaustability of reward points, and its really something I thought they should have changed for years.

I have seen no beligerence - just clueless - or they intend effectively to wipe out those existing balance.....so it goes....a thumb on the scale toward one fewer team for me

so my over 1,000 reward points cant be used for anything until and unless I get to an NT final.....I assumed they would become credits with the changeover....I was wrong

Agree with the post about frequent flyer miles. If I don't have enough at end of the year for a ticket, I can cash them in for magazine subscription, etc. Not that hard for HD to convert them to dollar credits.
Why did they do dollar credits for first rounds, anyway? Why not just keep the old system but not tax it after x seasons?

final answer from support - the standard "thanks for the suggestion" reply - which appears to miss the fact that in early March WIS basically took away a lot of earned reward points value.....so it goes, guess Fox didnt like that load of point hanging over possible future revenue - do I drop Crum or Wooden....we'll see

the odd thing to me is.. and i guess its just coincidence, it seems like there are alot of folks (including yours truly) that will be with a over amount of $1450ish--- weird.

and the problem will never go away because of the odd #s for reward points for NC and runner up. oh well

its a trap

That answer from CS is one of those right out of their list of canned answers which makes it clear that they didn't even read the suggestion. I also have 1450 points and never thought about it until I read how many people are in the same boat. I would never quit this game over the money, but when it seems like nobody really cares, that is when it is time to leave ( by the way fdny, stay in Wooden)

I am also in the same boat. I guess I will play an NBA sim season instead.

You get $15 in credits for an Elite Eight under the new system. That's more than enough for a free season.

Yeah. MAthematically, if you consistently make the elite eight, you by definition play for free. YOu could even miss the playoff entirely one out of seven and play for free in that scenario,.
