easy to critique

Nobody volunteered a damned thing except you, you were the only one to submit anything and show real interest in getting this done...you can say that other people were on board all you want, but show me what they did, don't tell me what they said they were going to do. I would still love to rank a division of WIS, I asked WIS for the information, they said no, others asked for the information on my behalf without saying it was for me and they were told no...my hands are tied. FWIW, I have ranked a few team comparisons here...I did one for oldave...compared him to another...and I also did a 5 team comparison...they're on the board, find them if you like, but I am no genius computer programmer ala coach_billyg, thus I'm not able to pull info from stat pages at will without individually doing the data entry.

Regardless of how you try to spin the story, there were never enough people on board to accomplish the task, period. You want to see what I've done as far as college basketball is concerned...look at my website...its all there.

That's basically what every post colonels19 has ever made on this message board amounts to.

I thought a thread was deleted, thus I posted. I was wrong, people told/showed me so, and I'm sorry. I'm am not immune to mistakes or inaccuracy, as much as I wish I was...I am not perfect.

And I'm not saying be positive, I'm saying be pragmatic. Ahhh to a degree and an extent, I am, in a way that you'd probably never understand I'm not saying let's celebrate the new engine, everything is fantastic! I'm saying it's early, let's reserve judgment and see how things actually shake out before crapping our pants. This thing deserves judgment at every stage of the process...we aren't in Kansas...err...BETA anymore...people are paying, this is the real deal, anything and everything that goes wrong here should be noted and debated as much as anyone wants to. You had 4 months to tell people to shut up and wait...that time is up my friend, whether you like it or not...we're live...

still no example of even one division....how many months later? despite all the talk

and several folks said tell me what to do and I will do it.... and the truth is - not spin - the fact is that the colonel didnt reach out to those who had volunteered, didnt send sitemails saying here is what I need - allowed the season to end and the then-current world data to expire - didnt reach out or organize or take any steps to make it so......

much talk, much bluster - but no results.....easy to critique

Not that I condone any use of the acronym "lol," but you do realize that means "laughing on the floor laughing," right?

You know what I will admit to, is not knowing what I was getting into to begin with and perhaps making promises I couldn't keep, and I'll own that. I had every intention of ranking a division of WIS HD, the fact was, the time, cooperation, and information aren't simply there to do within a time span of maybe 5 days for no money? At least real life matters and I can reasonably enter 200-300 games per week, as opposed to 7700 in 5 days, minimum....again, look at the vast difference.

and several folks said tell me what to do and I will do it Yeah they SAID, and never DID.... and the truth is - not spin - the fact is that the colonel didnt reach out to those who had volunteered, didnt send sitemails saying here is what I need - allowed the season to end and the then-current world data to expire - didnt reach out or organize or take any steps to make it so...... People didn't even submit their own seasons much less anyone elses...again you were the only one. I didn't send out many sitemails, but I did send one very important one to schroedess26 and he was trying to create a VB program for me to pull the info for me, but he wasn't successful...everyone else was really blowing hot air...they were never going to help with something that they didn't like, believe in, and something they wanted to see fail...let's not kid ourselves, mets.

much talk, much bluster - but no results.....easy to critique www.bpisports.com critique away. Also like I said, I did 2 mini analyses here, and I would be willing to do analyses for those that would want me to, perhaps with a max of 10 teams or so.

Whether you believe me or not, if the information was readily available in a form that I could compute my rankings, I would have ranked/rated multiple seasons by now. I don't think people understand/respect how hands on/solitary I am when it comes to my work...say what you will...its how I am.

Otherwise.

my point has now been made - it is easy to criticize - I'm waiting till I actually have some experience with the new engine beyond one exhibition game

If anything "wrong" happens whether its in game 1, game 100, game 1000, or game 1000000, anyone has every right to do what they see fit to address the "problem"...give it time isn't a viable excuse for everyone.... just saying

sample size increases the odds that an observation that something is wrong is, in fact, an accurate observation

but then of course we get to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and Schroedinger's cat, but lets not go there

As usual, if you'll ALWAYS give EVERYTHING the benefit of the doubt, NOTHING will EVER be wrong...
5/25/2010 5:40 PM
and, if one consistently looks at a tiny sample, one will frequently be wrong...?

In my opinion, better to question everything than to question nothing...questioning everything at least shows that you care.
