Two extra times, so three total.

Looks like recovering this data is going to take longer than normal, and it may not be until next week.  That should be ok, as games won't start until I think Wednesday.

Does that mean we'll be recruiting without our current players final ratings?  Not a big deal, just want to know before I update my spreadsheets.

Probably, yes.

Didn't we just have this issue in Allen World and were assurred that the problem had been corrected?
Different issue.

seble, with all due respect, why aren't you guys backing this data up completely before rollovers yet? it seems the number of rollover issues we've had over the years, especially recently would be enough that it was already backed up. especially player ratings! its not that hard of a project.

in all seriousness, id write you the script myself for a small consulting fee. based off what i already have written to import team history, i could back up, nightly, the ratings of every player on every team in every world in about 4 hours. the only issue i see is that you guys use double values for ratings (presumably), and we are only exposed to the integers. and also, exact ft rating is masked by a letter. so you would have to recover those details yourself later. or you could expose to me the function to get the exact value of the ratings and ill complete the backup script myself. just give me the function to get the exact rating for a player and attribute, and the format you want it stored in, and ill give you a bid... and ill have it done over the weekend.

The data is backed up regularly of course, but it can take time to get that data back.  Right now there are other extenuating circumstances causing a longer than normal delay.

ok. i hope you know when i said, in all seriousness, id write you the script myself... i was not being serious, just making a point. i have worked partially in systems development for some time and would expect recovery of this kind of data to be a well designed and easy to execute process - especially when it is not an uncommon problem. this kind of failure is something we have to deal with where i work as well, just on much larger and more complex systems, so our recovery process has to be iron clad. if you guys are still out of cincy, and want some help redesigning your backup and recovery process to make something like this a couple script calls, i would genuinely be happy to help. in the mean time, good luck putting everything back together!

sorry to bust your chops. i know you are working hard to make this game better. should have kept it to myself. i managed to do so the last couple times there were problems like this, it just makes me shake my head sometimes. im sure its not your fault anyway. well, at least, i hope the guy responsible for app development isn't the same guy working in systems development on the backup process.

Arrrrgh, does that mean there are even MORE issues to deal with..........(shaking head somewhat frustrated)?

Seble, since the new engine roll-out, we've ALL been basically playing beta testers on the fly for HD/WIS.  Would be REALLY nice to possibly get a little compensation for helping you guys out so much.  Maybe one free season per team for each user name..........maybe?

And before anyone starts yelling "Bad business move", it's the same basic concept as offering Free HD, only without the underhanded cheating.

Anyway, just a thought, but one that I think is worthy of consideration anyway.

if I were a better coach, I would track offseason improvement more closely....so I dont know whether we got more than normal

if it is likely that ratings will get rolled back, might make sense to put an announcement in Tark coaches corners so folks who dont look at the forum are not shocked and annoyed if/when the unintended increases are rolled back

just a thought....keep it simple...."Offseason improvement in Tark ran more than once.  We may - if feasible - undo the unintended offseason improvement." or something

Would be a simple, but excellent, idea.
