Viewing budgets of other teams Topic

All I'm saying is WifS doesn't like to remove owners unless it's an "extreme" situation.   I don't think they'd remove an owner for budgeting 108m and spending 104m if 105m was the rule.  I'm not even sure a world would want to remove that owner.  As you said, he's only hurting himself.

I don't think WifS will remove our ability to see other's budgets.   I see a problem working trades(it would force the two participants to reveal their current/future payroll limitations) and I'm sure there has to be some other unintended effects.  But, as tec said, real businesses don't open their books for public viewing.

As you point out, you do kind of need to see payroll budgets within HBD for trading, but is there any reason at all why one would need to see any other budget information for any other team?

Training - no
Medical - no
Coaching - no
Prospect - no
IFA scouting - no
Advanced scouting - no
HS/College scouting - no

You don't have to see the other's budget.  You can ask if they have room for your 4m man.  They can say "yes" or "no".   It just forces dialogue.  But I'd understand how it could be an inconvenience.   As for the rest, nope, no reason at all.

Ok, good points on each side of the argument.

I think you'd have to have payroll budgets. You could hide them, but all you'd need to do is turdy trade offers to ballpark other people's payroll budgets.

I 2nd tec's assessment.

I had leagues with IFA specific caps as a gap, but now that I think about it, there's an international signing report that can be used.

You could easily remove the "Would exceed this season's budget" warning.    Of course, that would force owners to be less retarded as a whole.

Well there you go. Bad idea.
I don't think you could fill a league without finding one that can't screw a lid on a jar of peanut butter.

All the warning removal would do is void the accepted deal before it's completed.  A just punishment for not being able to manage your cap.

i have no problem with it. it doesn't change the fact that you will either get the guy you're after or not. i don't see any advantage to knowing stuff like that.
How can you NOT see an advantage?
are you going to list the advantages and the times that you used this info to your own advantage?
I have used it to my advantage but have no plans on listing them to someone who does not see an advantage in it.

right. but it only really helps the owner with the most. and chances are that will be a different owner as the good ifa's get signed. not that big a deal to me
+1

Even if the owner with the most tries to get owners #2/#3 to bid higher, there's still the possibility that #2/#3 back out.  Owner #1 get the IFA, but is no longer #1 for the next one.

You know that just knowing someone's budget doesn't mean that you know whether they saw the particular IFA or not, right?
9/1/2010 5:31 PM
I still know, when they do see an IFA, that they know everyone else's budget.  Which I deem to be a problem.

will you petition wis for change regarding this matter?
9/2/2010 8:13 AM
Nope.   This is common sense and, if they're going to have a suggestion "box", I assume they'll read it.    I think, in the end, the fate of this suggestion will be determined with the ease of implementation.   If it's easy, it will happen.   If it's not, I'll see "This will never happen".

i would think just removing one 'view' would be easy. so we'll see if they actually read the thread

It's actually removing several views.     Pretty much killing this screen:

Of course, that may be quite simple.   I'm no computer programming nerd.
