Coach rehiring... ugh. Only one coach got rehired, since the rest are all complete junk or wanting to leave.

OMFG... are you ever going to get torched in Santa Fe.

People will see the scores and think you're playing GD, not HBD.....

I have played GD before and sucked. My goal here in HBD is to allow less that 7 runs per game... fat chance.

Unless you plan to sign a pile of awesome pitchers, yeah.... that'll be tough.

Aim for single digits, but really just try to keep it under two converted TDs/game.  :)

While I wish you luck on your rebuild, I'd like to point out that I took over this team mid-season after a L21 when the prior owner left.  If you're going to be posting user names in your post, please take the time to check out things such as this.

And I'd like to point out that the original season 16 owner(not tk2) was booted by our 2nd year Commish who instituted anti-tanking rules which we are enforcing. He was the 1st casualty. I hope we won't need to use the rule on anyone else, but it's there if need be and all new owners are immediately made aware of it.

I was accused of tanking in Joey Belle, but I wasn't. So this should be fine. Update coming at PM2 cycle!

He was tanking.

PM2 update:
Two of the four trades that were accepted yesterday went through, the other two are still pending and include a no-trade clause: Here are the trades:

TRADE 1: Washington D.C. gets 8.6mil (4 years left) OF Billy Ledee, who was one of the few good players on my team. Santa Fe gets 4.4mil pitching prospect Harry Torres and 4.5mil OF Ronaldo Granados. Torres and Granados will be placed in the bigs AFTER the Rule V Draft is done, because I want to save two 40-man spots and potentially their contracts.

Trade 2: Fresno gets 6.4mil 1B/3B Terrance Cooper, another of my good but overpaid players. Santa Fe gets arb-eligible 2B Matty Vazquez (5.2mil in arb), C prospect Doc Hudson, and $50k. Vazquez is immediately placed in the bigs, Hudson is placed at AA or AAA, haven't decided.

Overall, I clear about 550k in salary this season and Ledee's contract next season. Good deals.

Up next: Explaining my priorities in FA.

I was not tanking.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
I never quiet understood the rationale of trading away your best players when rebuilding, unless they are in there last year and your getting value for them rather than a draft pick. Surely if you have solid blocks in place you build from there and not start all over again?

You don't get to have a stellar record like his by making savvy moves.....

Far too many people think you have to completely tear down a team to rebuild it.  That's, shall we say, horseshit.    The only really restrictive salaries are the 10-20m type.   And, if you take over a team, even those aren't bad because you're maxing out 14m in several categories.

Agree entirely. Payroll isnt your enemy if the dollars are giving you value and if your truly bothered about fielding a competive team then ML ready talent and not prospects it could be argued is the way to go to win quickly.
