I lost 12 of my last 13 to end in a tie for the WC, and lost using the third tiebreaker.

So, whoever came back to tie should probably be on the list.

Edit: I had a fairly sizeable (6 or 7 games) lead when the collapse started.
Hey, I didn't know Omar Minaya was on this site.

As a Brewers fan, I appreciate Omar Minaya more than you can imagine.

So, while insulting, I'm also reminded of the only good Brewers memory I have had in my 27 years on this planet.  Thank you.

Season 15 in Hunter. I started out something like 25-45 and I was in last in the division, about 20 games I believe. This was only my third season in the world but I felt the two previous seasons I had made some good moves and this was going to be my first playoff season. I entertained the idea of dealing away the veterans I had acquired in the offseason but decided to stick it out and wait until the deadline. At the deadline I got to within 7 or 8 games but my team was playing unbelievable and the teams ahead of me were starting to slide. I stood pat and finished up the season 90-72 and took the last WC spot. I got bounced in the first round of the playoffs by another team that was on fire just as much as my team was but without the early season struggles. I think the scheduling had alot to do with how my team did because every season in that later stretch my team just goes off.

At 7-13 and seven games out, got the "you might as well concede the season" trade offer for my best young starter and my workhorse starter, with marginal prospects coming back, which I gave the too damn early response to, got as low as 14-25, slowly came back up to respectable and ended up 86-76, in the playoffs as division winner, season 14 Kaline.
Why would you give up your best young SP and a workhorse 20 games in? Especially since you got marginal players in return.
