Ash, I really disagree with your advice about minutes.  Ask NCIH or I, who have been scrambling in the gym Rat league.  Especially with a bunch of low min/game players.  The SIM is screwing up bench minutes beyond belief lately and also doling out injuries.  Trust me, you don't want even a 6 minute per game player injured.  Not to mention OT games.

Love the McDaniels and Baylor picks.  Maxwell is perfect, also.

My draft may be the weakest thus far, but it'll be fun watching Kobe do work.

You're welcome to your opinion.  Your struggles in the gym rat may or may not be relevant.  I'm just saying you don't need 19,680 minutes to win this league.   My team last season barely had 19k (19080).  By the time you add the two percent, it's not far under that 19,680 number, but I played quite a few overtime games.  I was very worried at the start, but after that display, I reached the conclusion of which I have spoken.

And the sim has been badly doing bench minutes for the past 2+ years.  The biggest struggle as an owner in the sim is to manage your fatigue, as you are playing guessing games with how the sim will regard your depth chart most night.

evil drafts: wilt, willis and now walton. bigs are at a premium me thinks.

yeah, but how in the world is he going to play all of them? None are SF eligible. Is he using a partial season of Wilt or Willis? And I'm not even sure if it's possible to fit the best Waltons on a 42 mil team right now.

Yeah been trying to build a reasonable team around just Kareem/Kidd and having issues.  Wilt and Walton have a very high mins/$ on their partial season years and I think Wills also.  I tell you from now on  I think there will be names never heard of in a ODL draft before

And you to yours.  My "struggles" (which have me 2nd best record in the league btw) are relevant.  It is a 47 mil league and injuries have been very common (currently 6 injured players). It is one of the reasons UVA has 2 teams under .500.
In the past it was common to never have an injury in an entire season in any league, so I can understand that your low-minute team was ok.  I believe injuries have changed since the new update.
Mine is fine now, BUT many owners may not have the time to shuffle guys around twice a day.  Just a warning that anything near 19k will not be successful.

I hope your wrong...doubt I'll have 19k with the way I want to draft...gonna use 88-89 Jordan

walton plays pf/c and is the backup..wilt plays enough minutes that bill just ends up being the backup to willis minus a few minutes at center. call it strategy to keep one of the bigs away from other owners, but he'll be a solid..my frontcourt is now set essentially.

oh yeah, it's set, but how much cash do you have left for 12000 minutes at the other three positions?

enough for 6 mil starters at all 3 positions..I'll be fine..

I just wanted to get my rebounding over with; I have wilt and willis..both should be set for the top 10 or 15 in the category.

A)  The engine did not change with this update:  Only salaries.  If you're having injury troubles, then that's your fault.  Unless they stealthily added something, which I find both likely and unlikely at the same time (likely it was an accident, unlikely b/c they don't put forth any effort in this sim)
B)  If you have the 2nd best record in the league, you're not struggling and minutes aren't an issue.  I don't understand why you even said something.
C)  If you don't have the time to adjust your depth chart 2x a day, then you should draft more minutes.  I don't really see how anybody expects to win a championship without checking in and doing micro-management 2x a day, though...  You can go on lucky streaks, but any theme league should require more time.
D)  I believe 19k minutes is fine.  If everyone plays equal percentage amounts over, your average fatigue is 98.4% (not factoring in overtime).  As long as you carefully micromanage your depth chart and use the right misc. settings, you should be fine with injuries.  It's not like I'm encouraging you to draft 17k minutes or something absurd like that.

So let me say this to anybody else reading our conversation:  Do what you want with minutes.  Badja and I have very different opinions, and even though we're both very sure that we are right, make up your own mind (like you would likely do anyway).

(even though I'm right and he's wrong =p)

I usually shoot for right around 19600 just to make sure that I don't have to tinker my lineup every single game, but depending on how the draft goes it might be necessary to go under 19600 (especially since you can barely get 300 minutes at the minimum salary)
