Shootout starts in week 1 with Palm Beach vs Bluffton. We were already scheduled before Bluffton joined the shootout, so this will essentially be the week 5 matchup, but will be played early. I definitely need to win this one, because toknowpepsi at Bluffton is my son Adam, and he has a habit of beating me.

It would be nice to be 1-0 before everyone else starts.

SO I laughed at this message from a recruit: "It pains me to admit, but my mother and father do not consider the area where U.S. Coast Guard is located a safe haven for one of their children." Really? hmm.

That's funny.  Was that a rejection from a potential dropdown/pulldown?  I've never seen that response at any level of HD from a recruit.

He had just dropped down to us the whole message reads,
"It pains me to admit, but my mother and father do not consider the area where U.S. Coast Guard is located a safe haven for one of their children. Apparently, they believe that my experience with your program would not be the optimal fit for me. It is possible that, if you were more clear in your goals and vision for the future at U.S. Coast Guard, you could sway their opinion.- Christopher Glidewell"

I think this is a letter packet response. I have noticed the HS GPA determines if you get a response like this or the response

"I was glad to get a letter from U.S. Coast Guard cause I hear ladies is bumpin therre. The players who went pro from your programs are sick too. But, outside of the league and the ladies, I don't no nothing bout U.S. Coast Guard. What you got for me?"

Interesting.  I haven't sent a letter to a recruit since the 2nd season I played HD (which was a long time ago).  I may have to start sending some out, just for entertainment value.

as is justin aaron.  he appreciates the recognition though...it will help him get through the season when he's only getting 5 minutes a game on our team that is deep at the G position :)

yeah who put together this dang schedule anyway!?!?!  i want to remind everyone that PBA won this thing last year and he only has to play 5 preseason ranked teams to my 6?!?  brutal! :D

Also Oshkosh is 26th and Albion is 33rd. It is goign to be hard for someone to go 8-0 this season.

I went back and looked at my scheduling prep, and PBAU was 21-13 and went to the PI championship when this schedule was made. That is why theirs looks "easier"

I think I got very lucky last year. I am hoping my team is better this year. But E. Connecticut knocked me out of the NT last year, and with the #1 ranking, they look like the team to beat for sure. I am actually worried about my game tonight against Bluffton to kick off the tournament. We were already scheduled for week 1 when he was accepted into the Shootout. He is my son, and has a knack for beating me at the worst possible times.
