I understand all of your points that you guys have made.  The main concern was this...All sim teams are avail for new coaches if they qualify.  Why would you think that a sim team that recruits (for example) 8 freshman , and if according to all of your comments, they are inferior players (which I agree the majority of them are), then wouldnt the team be more likely to attract a new coach if they have 2 walk ons for example because that would open up 2 more scholies for the new coach to mold the team the way he wants?     Just a thought.
you just cut them...this isn't that hard to figure out man...move along.

Yep. I just took over a rebuild in Naismith and the players are horrible (even though they are recruited by a human coach), so I cut 3 right off the bat, leaving my roster with 2 SR and 1 SO (who might be terrible as well, but I'm not sure so I'll see how he grows in the first few games).

Point is, if you are looking for a rebuild, you should take over a team in a strong conf with either 1) alot of open scholarships 2) alot of SRs, so you make a PIT or NT appearance, then you recruit with 20k cash and a prestige bump.

If you have bad players, you cut them rather than suffer with them for 2-4 seasons.

Someone correct me, but as I read the rules you only take a rep hit if you cut players you've recruited yourself.  In the cycle now ongoing on Naismith, I cut 2 D3 Sim players and didn't see any hits to my rep.  I cut one of my own recruits in D2 and my rep immediately fell half a grade.

So I don't mind the crappy sim teams myself - they're scheduling fodder, for one thing.  Bad Sim players are easy to dump.  And while it may take an additional season or two to undo the damage they do, in my experience most of that damage is the Off/Def sets the Sim seems to like but which don't fit the personnel.

There's no penalty to cutting a player that you inherited....only for  the ones that you previously signed
