I'm back... ps. Didn't Rated Pg play like 10 games a few times in this league and bail?  Just sayin, because in this type of league, we can't have 10-12 live game players bail.

Yes, which is why I posted that anyone is welcome who is committed to playing the minimum games. When a new owner signs up (such asonubears4656) I will send a sitemail and make sure I'm comfortable the player knows what he's getting into. In the case of players who missed the minimum by a large margin in the past, I'll contact them before we draft franchises to make sure they, too, are committed to 60 games. Obviously it's no guarantee, but seems like all that can be done.

Oh that's right, I forgot I haven't played in 4 leagues already since I've come back and gone way beyond the minimum in 2 of them already.  I realize I played 10 games once and left, but don't act like I'm the only one who's ever done that.  If you don't want me here, then I'll gladly find a different league.

ratedpg, I check with anyone who missed the minimum in this league, regardless of how many other leagues they've been in (I really don't have time to track that). I did not look to see whether he played in other leagues in the meantime and met the minimum. I never implied or said you're not welcome here. And in what way did I suggest you're the only one who has ever done that? I have a list of owners who have fallen short of the minimum in this league, and the next time they sign up, I check to make sure they'll get their games in. Doesn't matter whether it's someone with 20,000 games or 12. Not sure what I wrote to warrant the sarcastic, snarky response.

Rated, didn't mean to slight you. You're fun to play against and definitely welcome here. In this league, it's just frustrating when an owner in your division plays 10 or 15 games and bails and it's hard to meet goals because 13 games vs them have to sim. Thats all. Like josh said, just wanted to make sure people are committed and will attempt to get the min in.  Glad you're in and welcome back.

seems its getting harder to fill , do you have any backup plan for a league with 12 or 16 just in case ?

I dont think this league can run with less than 24.

I'd started thinking about doing just that, and will work on it some more. We could try a smaller version and keep this sign-up going at the same time to try to get to 24 eventually. If 12 or 16 doesn't work, it would just one one season down the toilet. To me, the biggest downside to a 16-team format is that the second-best team in the league can miss playoffs. Using the USA-style point system, that wouldn't be the case here. What I'm trying to come up with is a way to keep some suspense as to what teams are in the hunt so everyone has an incentive to keep playing to the end.

Goals would have to be adjusted also. For example, it's a lot easier to get a Cy Young top 5 in a 6-team AL league than in a 12-team AL. It's harder to have a AAA player hit 18 HR if you don't get to play a dozen games against the Cream Puffs. Etc.
