I would not increase his distro. He's shooting well because of the 2.3 oreb/game, which gives him 1 to 2 putbacks/tip ins game. Increasing his distro will negatively affect his offensive efficiency. 
You can't know for sure unless you at least give him a couple more shots a game on a trial basis.

Up his distro he will be a good scorer and it should bump his assists up nicely

I had a simliar player ( my guy was a somewhat better defender) start @ PF for my A+ presitge DII team that made the final four.

I think it is called the conditional tense....it's a way of saying that guy would start on my Princeton team.

Don't you need a 4.0 gpa to go to Cal Tech. I would think being a smart*** is what they are looking for.
