First of all, it WAS two teams from the same conference.  Second, Creighton and Nebraska HAVE done what you said "several" times if "several" is exactly twice (2004 and 1984).........

I seem to remember being relatively new and hearing people ***** about how stubborn tarek was and how he refused to take input because this game was his.

Perhaps a bit of revisionist history here?

Hardly!  It was much worse before.

tark would take input and argue about it.  It often took a long time before he'd address a problem. But he'd NEVER apologize or admit fault.

Case in point:

1) I had a team that was 13-14, RPI 35.  My team was on the 'lock' list, meaning a NT bid was guaranteed.  But, when the bids came out, I was in the PIT.  WIS had a unwritten rule that a winning record was required for the NT but it wasn't written into the 'lock list' logic.   Rather than admit the error, tark told me that the 'lock list' was indepedent of WIS and he had no control over what they wrote.  "Just as in RL, sometimes the list is wrong."

I don't miss tarek. Fox has it's problems, but seble (in comparison to tarek) is not one of them. tarek was way too defensive of the status quo and his WIS baby.

Used to be great customer service. When fox bought the company, changed. Typical of small business where everyone knew the owner, happy and secure until grandpa sells to goiliath and heads to Florida to play shuffleboard and ride around in golf carts. I love this site but not fox. They squeeze the site for profit but fail to give employees incentive, reason to give it their all. It becomes a job with fewer employees, more responsibility. Feel bad for trentz, others who love the site but working for a faceless corp interested in profits not consumers. Rupert Murdoch is a..insert colorful curse here.
carl, I'm not saying that CS is good now, but it was awful when Admin was around, and Admin himself was WAY worse to deal with than seble. You couldn't try to tell Admin a damn thing about this game without him being hyper defensive and shooting you down.

I have more misgivings with seble by the month, but Admin was atrocious when it came to CS.

Lol, js ... wrote my response before I even saw yours.

In my memory, lower level CS seemed better when Tarek was around.  Upper level was worse.

No worries, daalter. Let me reiterate my pleasure with the knowledge that tarek gave away control of his game.

I think that's very fair, asher. Well said.

Good points, interesting topic. I was playing sim league baseball, did not join hoops right away. Never dealt with tarek, just remember that any mail was answered promptly, there was always upcoming development chats, even a site profile of a player with a question session. It is still a great site, I am just bias against fox. I may be a large company bigot.

No, I think they were more active before.  HBD hasn't had an update in what seems like forever.

Tarek may have been hyper-defensive about his baby, but he would eventually relent and there would still be frequent updates, user chats, etc. for each of the games on this site.

When was the last time any significant changes have been made to any of the games on this site? When was the last time there have been user chats directly with the programmers? Is there even a full time staff of developers for this site anymore? I honestly believe that they just get together for a couple days once a quarter and throw out some BS changes to make it seem like they are doing something.

In the end, personally, I'd rather argue with Tarek until I'm blue in the face than talk to a wall like I do now.

In GD... the updates include 5 weeks ago they made it so the preseason All American email displayed photos of players.... almost 3 months ago they updated drop down menus and tabs. That's it since mid-February.

In HD.... "There are no updates for the past 90 days." Good thing the game is flawless!

billy - reminds me of a phil jackson quote about coaching kobe and shaq, something along the lines - shaq would be the biggest jerk in practice, pay no attention, fight with me over just about everything, then do exactly what I wanted during the game, while kobe is the best listener, asks great questions, supports everything I would say, then do nothing what I wanted during the game.  Tarek is shaq and Seble is Kobe.

One other difference, tarek used to give little clues about the engine, even though they were cryptic, those clues led to lots of discussion / debate in the forums over strategy, as far as I can tell, seble does very little of that, leaving the forums to discuss somewhat meaningless issues - like the difference between tarek and seble LOL
