I don't understand why a guy designated can then be assigned immediately afterwards.  I thought this was a ruse.... If you designate a guy, doesn't it give the rest of the league the opportunity to claim him on waivers????  I think designating a stud prospect is a good way to give him away to another team for free.

Service on this site has been steadily going down hill since Fox took over.  I don't think they'd even lift their leg to pee if they were all dogs.
