Or,
I made a mistake, realized it, and took the proper steps to remedy it (paid, applied). Upon deciding there was more I could do (CS ticket, Forum post) to rectify my mistake and get my team back, I did it. And it worked, because mduncanhogs happened to see this Forum post, and most people are a lot nicer than Trevor.
Sorry if I used a "." instead of a "?"-- thought my post was very nice, though. No threats to quit forever, no ******** about CS... I just tried out a tactic that wasn't standard in my effort to leave no stone unturned. The job was fair game- CS told me "other people have applied, you'll have to go through the jobs process", and I did. I'm pretty sure my 600+ wins would have beaten out mduncan's 17 in the process, but if someone with a great history had taken the job, I'd have said "that's a shame" and gone to our rival conference and tried to beat them.
I never insulted anyone or said I deserved the team back. I laid it out and asked for some kindness and decency. Lo and behold, it came through.
