It's taking some teams way too long to accept the game invites. Did they forget they're in the shoot out?

So is anyone else having problems scheduling Rowan? I've had the request out to them all season as they are supposed to be my week 4 matchup, but they still haven't accepted.

It looks like Rowan and Willaim paterson are AWOL. I will look for repalcements. Which will be hard this time of year.
If anyone knows of any teams that do not have schedules let me know.

I am sending a sitemail to John Hopkins owner since he wanted to get in and still has schedule availbilty.

Maybe we should set a deadline of 3 days after recruiting begins for teams to schedule their games. Any that have not scheduled by then would get a site mail and if two days pass and they still have not scheduled, we can find a replacement. This way it would be early if we know that there is a problem, and we'd have a better chance of fixing it.

Um...no need to replace me...I've been out of town without uinternet access for about 10 days.  However, if you've already gone out and dnoe this, I understand.

So, here's what it looks like happened:

I got back in front of a computer 30 minutes ago, and went through and accepted my requests I had pending.  Following that, I see I've been replaced.  So, 3 of you have games scheduled with me instead of my replacement.

As the longest tenured competitor in this event, and the long-time administrator of the event, it generally is not in my nature to take so long to accept game requests.  However, for those who have been around the longest, you know that I have always gotten my games scheduled, and this would have been no different, as this was my highest priority for this afternoon. 

Real-life got in the way here and for that I apologize.  I'm involved in a giant tourney on the Sim League Baseball portion of the site ane while I did send a reminder to that person that I would be gone without access because there were drafts that would have been held up by my absence, I didn't sitemail andersaa because it's never been an issue here and I didn't think it would be this time.  For that, I apologize.

So, I guess I will be taking a one-year hiatus from the Shootout.  This will give me a chance to start a philosophy change in O/D and maybe not look so bad doing it.

Early yesterday I saw the site mail and post here from chapelhillne, but decided to wait for confirmation of the schedule change from andersaa; by the time I saw that, reddevil had accepted my earlier and still-pending challenge.  Too bad, just a misunderstanding, everyone acted in good faith.

It will be just my third season, but I do think, as chapelhillne suggested, that we could use a simple deadline for accepting challenges, perhaps with an extension for coaches who are long-time particpants and/or former administrators of the tourney.

That sounds like a good plan. It's a shame that everything happened like it did. We did get a couple of good schools for the future. On a side not, Salem State and my Palm Beach Atlantic team are still undefeated at 25-0. Kind of glad we didn't meet in the shootout.

Yes, glad / lucky Amherst only had to play one of you this season, lol.  It's a great tournament, we're glad to be in.
