I think that would have been a good idea, as I saw some of our Scouts eating a few slices of Pizza along with a container of Chinese.  Which is good, because it shows their minds are on the Players not the Food.  Now for the rest of the night I'm going to give them a strong brew of caffinated Coffee, to help keep them awake.  So while I'm waiting for the Coffee to brew, I'm waiting for the Draft to begin.

Babe Ruth 1st Pick-No surprise here.  This guy can carry an entire Team on his back.  Enough said.

But the next pick is going to be close and could set a pattern for picks to come.

I think I identified 20 long term Hall-of-Famers in this draft. A boat load of great players will be left at 24. You just need to decide whether you want to win right away... or go long term and draft rookie type players. I've found that you may plan to do one of the other, but it all depends on who is drafted in front of you. The good thing is there are always great players that fall.
<--- pick #21 *sad face*

You sure you didn't see one more in there somewhere? ;)

I don't know if there is another, "in there somewhere," but you'll be the 1st one to get the one that tried to run away.  Well, it looks like, the Babe Ruth Pick is it for this evening and we'll have to see what tomorrow brings.  So I'm going to send everyone Home for the Night and let house keeping clean this place up.  Good Night

Rogers Hornsby 2cond Pick-A 2B who'll hit .370 in 1920 and gets better every year as he works his way up to breaking .400.  A 2B who can hit like this is worth his weight in gold.  I would gave picked this guy at #2 as well.

Tris Speaker 3rd Pick-32 Year Old CFer has 6 more excellent years with the Bat and Glove.  A bit of a surprise Pick, considering Speaker's age, but how many other CF's do we have out their who can hit and field like Tris can over the next 6 years.

I think that I draft 8th. Still an interesting spot. I don't think I've ever had that good a spot in any initial progressive draft. I tried to identify the players that will go before me. Will be interesting to see how it falls!
in robboogi's 15/55 progressive, I was lucky and got number 1 and took the Babe. it took me 5 legs before I won a ws. you have to assemble the pieces around the engine. plus when you draft #1, its a long time coming back to you.

Thats True tridentic-46 Players will have come off the Board, before the Babe has a Team Mate.  And the same can be said, for a few picks that follow the Babe.  I'm not sure how relevant your past experience with the 15/55 Draft and your pick of Ruth would be with this Draft, in that 5 Years puts a different slant on things.

guys come. guys go. I can't worry about it. just make the best of the spew that's left.

With the 19th Pick, you'll bringing up the rear with me.  But the good news is that we'll be up in the front for Round 2. Its to early to predict, if the end of Round 1 will be ripe for Hitters, Pitchers, Young Players, Older Players etc.

Isn't Ruth about a 19Million dollar guy in 1920?look at it this way the number 1 guy gets 3picks out of the first 49.

Good Point jeff-When I make a realistic, forecast as to my Round 1 and 2 Picks, I'm unable to combine them in order to come close to matching. Ruth's total $$ value.  I haven't done the Math but I'm sure Ruth leaves everyone in the dust, when we start talking about Career $$ value as well.

Still scouting, but yeah, Ruth is $50M or so ahead of next player.
