ahh thanks for the little tips.  I like building my teams around solid average and a little speed with some triples.  I have more of the Ty Cobb mentality compared to a Babe Ruth.

In my experience, building teams around triples hitters, with good rl/# ratios, is very effective. Depending on the league format, HRs by the same formula can be effective, but HR hitters that are good hitters overall tend to be too expensive.

       I agree, it seems to be more cost effective to go with speed and ave. over power. The teams I've built with power haven't done well.  I'm still trying to figure out a strategy for pitching. lol.

To give you an opinion on one of your questions, whether to spend more money on pitching or on hitting, I think that depends on the salary cap.  In open leagues, it seems that you want to spend more money on pitching.  In higher cap leagues of say $140 mil or more, I think you are more successful spending more money on hitting.
