He's a very good driver.   And, as you know, it's not gay if you're driving.

Enjoyed your videos, thanks. Now will you please join one of my leagues !!
I'm probably not going to join a new league for a good while.  I prefer to keep 2-3 teams at a time, and I'm at 3 right now.  If I go up to 4, I'm just going to inevitably end up not caring about one of my teams and dropping one.

Great videos, your choice swear words were pretty funny. I thought I was doing everything right until I saw your videos. There are a few points I had questions on

1) as a general rule you offer every player a Mutual Option if they are 30 yrs+ and could decline by the end of their contract?

2) Didnt fully show your reasoning behind not signing the best ML coaches and instead signing them for >1 million. It seems brilliant, but in my case I have stud prospects playing in the majors that are still developing, so in my situation wouldnt get the best ML coaches available benefit them more?

But, nonetheless, good attempt at "giving back" to the game.   You do know what you're doing.  I just don't think anyone is gonna spend an hour and a half to listen to you drone on and on.

I thought about this, people do similar **** for video games which are like wayy longer and they get an assload of views.

The problem is that I'm not actually doing anything other than talking and looking at player cards, but it wasn't that much effort to make and was a pretty impulsive decision so if nobody looks at them that's fine with me.  I sorta realized halfway thru that these wouldn't get a ton of views, but decided I didn't really care and would just finish what I started.
I've dropped into the video game ones once in a while, mainly if there's an achievement i don't understand how to get.

In the same way, if i didn't know what i was doing here, it's sometimes easier to watch someone explaining something with visuals rather than trying to read and review threads with misaligned ratings, or people hijacking.

If nothing else it'll be interesting to see if someone else has the same thought processes/evaluations.

I know I do. I'll consider trading for players with such contracts, but almost never for a player without. The mutual option is your friend.

1) Probably 90%+ of the time.  The only occasion where you definitely don't is where you have a stud player who is willing to re-sign for a fraction of his open market value and you'll definitely be disappointed if he declines his option.  i.e. if you have a SP who's 32 and gives 200 IP with a ~ 3 ERA and you can re-sign him for $8M/year, you definitely don't want to give him a mutual option in his last year at age 36 since he'll still be easily worth the money for the final year of his deal (assuming that you are investing $20M/year in training).  on the open market pretty much always, unless there's somebody who by fluke is available for wayyy less than they should be, but that's rare.

2) i was going to get into it in my next video, but long story short my HC and BC are both 91 overall and my PC is 83, and I averaged like $750K apiece.  Coaches will accept half of what they are demanding on the screen, so there are always a bunch of good ones that slide through the cracks.  Coach hiring in general is a joke because there's so little value in the HC/BC/PC to begin with and there's such an abundance of good coaches that it's really pointless to cut into your budget at all for them.  Hiring a FI is really all that matters since they are so scarce, so that's basically the only coach that you need to save up any amount of cash for.

he's basically a warm body that plays good but not great D at 2B and isn't a black hole on offense.  but that's not really all that useful since it's not that hard to find a decent hitter at 2B.  i acquired 4 2B/CF types who are just as good or better real easy, two of them were pre-arb, one of them at 1 yr/$4M, and the multi-year guy was still making less $ than burgess.

i basically would have never used him.  i wouldn't have a problem with using him, but I built up so much depth that I didn't need him.  As far as I was concerned, he was $22.5M of deadweight salary which is kind of a lot for somebody like me who likes to throw around weight on the FA market.  i reserve multi-year deals for people who are good and difficult to replace, and he qualifies as neither.

I just assumed this was an elaborate Rick Roll.....I guess I'll take a look.

Here's a sneek peek at deano's video describing how to put together a solid defensive infield.

Thanks for posting these, I've learned quite a bit.  As a brand new player, I realize these aren't targetted towards me (for example, when looking through what you have on your roster, you state which players are good or bad without saying specifically why they are good or bad), but I definitely picked up some of what you are explaining.

Do you plan on doing anything on how you set your roster up/mangage your team during the season?
