I can't tell you how many time Bob Milacki has ended the season in AAA. Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't retired by now considering how I've mistreated him.

not to mention his oft times partner in crime, '87 Jack McDowell.

Long ago (several years) I was trying to drop one $200k scrub for another on the waiver wire and inadvertantly dropped Chuck Knoblach who was my starting secondbaseman and having a bang up year.

I sent in a ticket to admin explaining what happened and asking them to undo it.

They did.

Damn.  I did something similar once, mixed up two players with similar names and dropped the non-scrub, and I asked Admin to undo it.  They did NOT, ha ha.

One night I drunkenly made a couple of waiver moves with a team, forgetting that the league had very specific rules about who could be waived and who could be picked up from waivers.  The next day, I didn't remember doing these moves, and didn't even notice the changes to that team.  A couple of days later though, another owner noticed the changes... and loudly wondered (joined by some others)  what the hell I thought I was up to... eventually admin reset my team to it's original state.   Plus I forfeited all the games I had won during the 15 games that I had the illegal lineup (which was around 10 or 12).  This caused another uproar, as some owners were not impressed with other teams getting free wins due to my incompetence. I wouldn't say I wrecked the entire league, but the remainder of the season was played out under a cloud.

My team ended up about 7 games out of the playoffs.  Kind of glad I missed out, didn't want to stir up another ****storm.

You should not "waiver" when you drink!

Don't waiver when drunk, in a really bad mood or overworked IS very good advice. My consistent error is forgetting, when fed up with a pitcher, to check to see if they are already listed as the next starter and already WWing another player needed to meet the cost of WWing the pitcher and getting a better one.

At which point I realize that the guy I wanted is going to be gone by the time the next start  is over AND I have lost the bench player or reliever who deserved better, sacrificed in vain.

I use the team notes to remind myself of when so-and-so is starting, when I have left an AAA er in the rotation after an emergency start, or a regular player in AAA - usually I have small letter notes, but when it is one of these situations I write URGENT !!  and then an all-caps note to myself to remember and at what point. Can't always check these in time, but it has reduced my stupid mistakes to a manageable level.
