How did I recruit? Topic

The point is that damned few people are signing stud classes their second season in the game. Everything you've said is absolutely correct, but I'd hate to see a new player get frustrated and quit when this game badly needs more human players.
He's going to improve faster by telling him that this class is not good, and what kind of players he should be looking for (bigs that max out with ath over 50 + reb over 80). This way he will recruit better, will achieve success faster, and will stay with this game

By telling him this class is fine, it's not bad for C-, etc. he's going to continue to recruit similar players, won't make the NT, and then quit after 3 or 4 seasons like so many new players who don't do well.

tianyi, yes, he could do better, and in the future he'll know to look for much higher ATH. But it's just not true to call players of this caliber "useless". Average? OK. But there are guys just like this who make decent big men on good teams. Just looked through my D3 conference's ratings and found a guy with 32 ATH, 78 REB, 47 DEF, 77 SB and 63 LP. His IQ's as a senior weren't even that great, because he transferred in. He just averaged 6.1 rpg, 1.1 bpg, and shot 52% fg. That's on a 19-10 NT team in the 2nd-best conf in D3 Tark. Another guy has 38 ATH, 81 REB, 43 DEF, 65 SB, 52 LP. Just averaged 6.1 rpg, 51% fg, 1.0 bpg in 23 mpg.

Again, those aren't earth-shattering numbers, but they're not awful, and you can build an NT-caliber team that has a few guys like that. When I started at D3 Naismith, I kept recruiting big men like that for the first 5 seasons, until I realized how important ATH was. And yet I still made the S16 in my 4th or 5th season.

We just have to agree to disagree, because no way would I call those players mediocre/average, when there are a bunch of FR rated in the 400s with better ratings.

ATH isn't the end-all, by any means.  I was in a DII conference with tianyii last season.  His starters averaged 10 rating points higher than mine for ATH and 12 points higher for SPEED.

We split our regular season games and both advanced to the Final Four.

Not so fast... your Final Four game has been protested, remember?  Until the "Case of the Stolen Playbook" is resolved, don't polish that RU trophy.

It doesn't look good for you, though...running off and taking the Tulsa job right away.

Ooh... "Case of the Stolen Playbook"..... I'm intrigued. What is that?
