300 wins was enough.  Our only enshrinee this season:

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Charles Stern
A guy with a 3.89 ERA can get in but not one with 770 HR?  I can't believe you had enough votes to get anyone in and Perez didn't make it.  I would think Cambridge should be in, but it doesn't surprise me he wouldn't make it, in an HBD world.

Perhaps the Rage need to hire a new P.R. director, because the only campaigning the current one did during the voting period was:

MikeT23 Rage 2/8/2012 11:33 AM Jamey Cambridge, MOTHER****ERS!!!!

That should be enough for you 'tards.   Surely you see my team name.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

HE'S MY PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GIVE ME SOME CHEESE TO GO WITH MY WHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously. You can be a math nerd about it, or you can say "300 wins. HOFer. 770 HRs. HOFer."

I do see your team name.

And don't call me Shirley.

I think in general on HBD, accumulated stats get overvalued in HOF voting and value for a player based on his position gets undervalued.

Having said that, I think Perez over Cambridge, but not 16-4. But both should get in (although I do place value in hardware and Cambridge is lacking. Just my opinion)

And, as somebody else noted, how does a guy with Perez's combination of numbers and hardware only get 16 votes?

We have strict admission standards.   Plus we have no 2B, 3B, SS or full-time CF in our HOF.

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Pedro Wilfredo played just under 50% of his games in CF.

"Strict admission standards"?  What, were you asleep when you let DIAH in?

I was talking about for the HOF.  death was let in under the little-known, WifS-mandated "Dumb canuck" rule.

Oh, well, I'm guessing it isn't so much "strict admission standards" as it is only 17-18 ******* in this league actually vote for the HOF, similar to Cooperstown.

To be fair, I thought it was me and my general disregard for the HOF(I vote but don't talk it up) in the worlds I commish.   However, it seems that none of the worlds I've joined are very active wrt the HOF.  I still think the process is largely broken(extending the voting would help) because all 5 worlds have MWR so owners are more focused on fixing their teams during the pre-season than arguing the merits of some fake player who retired 4 seasons ago.

This wouldn't have annoyed me if Perez didn't get 4 times as many votes.   12 owners voted for Perez and not Cambridge.   That seems stupid.

Perez should be in the HOF before a pitcher with a 3.89 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and no Cy Young awards... why didn't you use the guy that DID get in as a comparison?
2/14/2012 3:21 PM
361 doubles and 400 home runs with a 1.03 BB/SO rate still rings the counting stats bell pretty well, even without considering his defensive value. Owners should have limited his steals a bit more, but he was clearly a high caliber player. Not certain what kind of middle infielders you have had in MG, and certainly the steroid era helped those power numbers, but Rogers Hornsby leads current HOF second basemen with 301 HRs and Jeff Kent leads the career list with 351. Sure both played 2B their entire careers, but neither was a defensive asset, and ML managers are more inclined to live with defensive liabilities than many HBD players, making their career stay at 2B less about defensive value than managerial inertia/player ego.

Frankly, I don't know the world so I cannot say Cambridge's case is not close, but the vote totals do seem to skew toward the incomprehensible.
