I'm on year 4.5 of HD and year 10 of WiS.  This week will mark a huuuuge step in my relationship, as I'm going to have to ask my girlfriend to update me on/possibly act on recruiting on signing day.
If she succeeds, the next logical step is marriage.
and then a WIS ID and her own team(s)
Wow. Please start a new thread when this happens. Some sort of running dialogue and sharing of the texting and phone communications. I can't think of a less qualified person on the planet than my wife to do anything WIS or fantasy sports related. Best-case scenario would be that she'd totally sabotage my teams.

whenever my wife sees me on the computer or the bb playing around on wis, she asks "are you doing your basketball again?" i'm not sure her question is grammatically correct, but i wouldn't dare correct her into saying, "are you coaching your imaginary college basketball teams again?"

There's a movie or a book (or maybe both) about parents who had a baby so that that child could be an organ donor for their other child.  I'm not sure I agree with that, but I do think it's perfectly OK to have a kid so that he (hopefully it's a boy) can do your recruiting for you when you're unable to.  My son has more than earned his keep by doing this for me several times.  Would highly recommend it.

That was that terrible Cameron Diaz/Abigail Breslin movie, wasn't it?  Like, movie based on a book...

Found it.  Jodi Picault book -> terrible movie.

I refuse to quit, quitting is for losers.

So far I have managed to hide WIS from significant other. When she asks what I am doing on my phone at 2 am, i tell her "surfing, could not sleep, go back to sleep." And she thinks I am a terrible liar.

My wife helps me evaluate players to target during pre-recruiting. She also used to do the overnight recruiting before they changed her work schedule. She doesn't understand all the nuances of HD but it is great to have her support and understanding. She does have her own ID but she has never had a team of her own.

June 21, 2002 for me.  I spent the first 9 years predominately playing baseball and lots of it.  There were times I had 30-40 teams going at one time....  I have only played one baseball season in teh last year or so, but am holding string with 4 HD teams.  I just can't stomach the thought of life without WIS.

The correct answer to that question is, "No, I'm trying to find out why your gift hasn't arrived."

my wife says the same thing! it kinds of makes me feel better about it.

it reminds me of a time my cousin and i, then about age 8, were playing baseball on some set of sports games on original nintendo. the game was fantastic, and each year when we came to visit, we could not wait to go play baseball. so, we'd tell my parents and his, we are going to play baseball! and run off into the woods, to run from my grandparents house (where we stayed) to my cousins house. for at least 2-3 years, this went on, and finally one day, i was talking to my parents and i was like, yeah, it has tennis too, but its terrible. and they are like... what has tennis. and i was like, baseball! after some confusion, they were shocked to find out we had been playing nintendo baseball this whole time. they figured we were outside playing... probably worked out for the best... although im not sure how the question didn't come up sooner, as i'd often be there till 4-5am, walk home in the woods myself at age 8, at 5am, and my parents would be like, what were you doing so late? playing baseball? so im not really sure what they were thinking, but ill chalk that one up to the fact that it was 5am...

I once told my father I was recruiting a player from my hometown named Dow for my computer team. He responded by telling me he thought he knew the Dows. I had to explain he couldn't know imaginary people. He remained insistant.
