Coach, I really appreciate you having enough faith in me to extend me a scholarship offer. I hope that you have enough faith to wait for me to visit some other schools - they really have made their programs sound great and to be honest, I need much more information before I can tell you yes or no.

along the same lines...  do you guys think it is worth it to offer the minutes or starts even if you know the player might not/won't receive the promise?  I was in a similar situation last draft and most likely will be again this year.  Thanks

I think its always worth a shot with the promises. If they say no to you it only means that you haven't put in enough effort yet for them to accept it or you may be way behind in a battle but it's always worth a shot I think.

Alright so my recruit hasnt talked to me since last night and he isnt considering anyone. So with 7 and a half hours of recruiting left what is the chance I land him?

So 200 total, 100 for the offer and 100 on calls/letters?  I'd guess < 5% chance.  I've never tried exactly what you did, but I don't think it's enough.  It's possible he'll just miraculously show up as signed after recruiting.  I have heard of that happening when it didn't seem possible.
