I know this won't be popular, but why not only give out credits to returning players?  As in after the roll.

Everyone gets a credit unless you finish 2nd.  Right?

I would think that a league in its 21st season would have more openings than a younger league, anyone agree?

Why would you say that?

Because the original owners that started the league are usually long gone, especially in this case

Are you assuming that worlds can only be stable and successful as long as the original owners are around?

While this is not true in black-and-white, it is much harder to maintain a stable, successful world if the original owners leave,  You end up with a relatively smaller number of players for whom your world is their primary world, and if they choose/need to cut back, your world is more likely to get cut.  You end up running more vacancies than comparable quality worlds with their original owners.

Yeah, they let those two worlds sit forever awhile back with as many openings. Not saying its a bad move. There's got to be something seriously wrong to have 18 openings. I think, by rule if there are 16+ openings at rollover, a world should be imploded. The last new world they made a ridiculously strict criteria for keeping the world open past 5 seasons--and Im sure theyd never follow through.
This is correct.  If a world rolls and half the owners aren't returning, kill it.

The only way to merge worlds is for there to be two worlds with 1/2 or more owners not returning.

If I spent years building a team, and WIS took it away & gave me just one free season in return, I'd be angry.

There are other options besides ending a world.  They would all take a bit more time & money.  I don't see WIS investing either into HBD.

Apparently not, now that there's 18 less spaces waiting to fill.

Why not make 7Jerry7 public and foil WIS's diabolical plan?
Isn't this kinda the obvious answer?

Owners who want to keep their teams that they have grown attached to, can stay with them.

And HBD n00bs get another sandbox to play in.

Whats the point of closing it down completely?

They're making it an example.  Letting commissioners know that if they let their leagues slide they will be in danger of shutting you down.  But yeah making it public to me also seems like the obvious answer.

For a company owned by FOX, they're VERY cheap...
