When Martin Luther King wanted to treat everyone based on the content of their soul instead of the color of their skin he was applauded.

When a Republican wants to treat someone based on the content of their soul instead of the color of their skin, lack of a y chromosone or sexual orientation they are hateful bigots!

You can't even get the quote right Swamp. "content of their character". And being an atheist you cannot acknowledge that we have a soul, or you would have to account for what it is, and where it comes from.

A new poll of Virginia shows President Obama opening up an 8-point lead in the state. The Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling (PPP) shows Obama with a 51 percent to 43 percent lead over Romney, as the numbers reveal a large gender gap among women.

Beyond that, the two numbers that jump out are the split among women voters and how those Virginians who voted for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in the 2008 presidential election. Obama and Romney split men evenly, but the president sees 55 percent support from women, while Romney only gets 38 percent. The split seems to be a result of the nationwide gender gap that appeared clearly in polling after the Obama administration instituted new federal rules requiring health insurers to provide contraception to women free of charge. Republicans fought back against the rules, claiming they violated religious freedom by requiring insurers like the Catholic Church to provide something that went against its religious tenets.

so DEMONAZIS WIN WAR ON WOMEN should be the thread name

So I cant use "Soul" as a generic secular term refering to a persons moral basis?

So since you got the irrelevant semantics arguments out of the way how about addressing the main point?

Why is a Republican treating everyone the same racism?
5/4/2012 7:04 PM
No you can't  "use "Soul" as a generic secular term refering to a persons moral basis" for the obvious reason that that is not the definition of "soul." Character might be a better word...and funny story here...that is the word that MLK used "...content of character."

Republican's treat everyone the same? Seriously? What about marriage? What about being an immigrant, legal or otherwise? How many Canadians are in the US illegally? How come nobody ******* about that? What about the poor? Are they treated equally? No...they end up paying a higher % of their income in taxes than the wealthy (and we are counting all taxes, not just federal income tax). Are women treated equally when it comes to pay? Look at the what the Rs did in Wisconsin. Why are Republican legislatures around the country mandating medical procedures for women who seek an abortion, but not the same thing for men who want Viagra? Random stops on the street to see if Hispanic looking people are in the US legally.

Racism, sexism, elitism, classism, narcissism, hypocrisism (I just made that up)....the GOP has it in spades....hah, hah, see what I did there?

Oh...I almost forgot...why did the presumptive Republican nominee kick his foreign policy adviser to the curb. Treats everyone the same....you are hysterical.

1 Everyone is treated the same in marriage. No one has ever got the people of ANY state to ever vote to give special status to homosexual marriage.

2 What have Republicans ever done to legal immigrants? EVER?? We want to get rid of all the people that enterd the country through illegal means. In other words we treat everyone the same. Are you really implying that illegal Canadians are as big an issue as illegal hispanics?

3 Republicans want a flat tax that treats everyone the same. Talk to your guys about that.

4 There is no law that makes women get paid less. Mostly market forces.

5 I dont know if you have ever heard, but some people believe Abortion is murder. Are you really comparing Viagra and abortion?

6 The law clearly states that you cannot profile hispanics. Democrats keep saying that because the only way they can win elections is to lie to uneducated hispanics to get them scared of Republicans.

I challenge you again to find a law that discriminates...I will wait!

<<2 What have Republicans ever done to legal immigrants? EVER?? We want to get rid of all the people that enterd the country through illegal means. In other words we treat everyone the same. Are you really implying that illegal Canadians are as big an issue as illegal hispanics? >>

Are YOU implying that the law should be selectively enforced? Based on race and ethnic origin? Why that sounds.....wait, there's a word for that......racist, I think it is.

And since you said "EVER" I will direct you to Republican Senator James Blaine of Maine and the Chinese Exclusionary Act of the 1880s which among other things, stripped the American citizenship, legally attained, of Chinese immigrants. Hell, I was able to do that off the top of my head.

I do give you an A for perseverance and your ability to avoid answering direct questions by simply ignoring the ones to which you cannot produce accurate answers that support your opinion.

<<4 There is no law that makes women get paid less. Mostly market forces.>>

Mostly market forces you say. And what would be some of those other forces, other than market? Why that sounds like.....sexism.

<<5 I dont know if you have ever heard, but some people believe Abortion is murder. Are you really comparing Viagra and abortion?>>

I happen to agree with that position, but the US Supreme Court has already ruled on this issue. But for someone concerned about government encroachment into the private lives of its citizens, having state legislatures mandate medical procedures seems to be coming between the doctor-patient relationship, and be an expansion of government authority into an individual's private life. I thought conservatives were opposed to that? Or is that only about guns and taxes?

<<3 Republicans want a flat tax that treats everyone the same. Talk to your guys about that.>>

i support a progressive tax structure, so we will have to agree to disagree on that. The reality is, the poor pay a higher % of their income in taxes than the wealthy. If you want to remove all tax breaks and go from there, maybe that is the place to start.

<<I challenge you again to find a law that discriminates...I will wait!>>

Let's start with the tax code and singles vs. marrieds. Or immigration laws that favor immigrants of certain countries over those of others. Or anti-trust exemptions for major league sports. Or policies that permit high school baseball players to be drafted by the pros, but not high school basketball or football players. There are numerous laws that discriminate.

2 I would support any illegal alien being arrested and deported. Saying that we dont go after Canadian illegals is a false argument. We are talking hundreds as opposed to millions. The question is why do you worry so much about illegals being arrested and not getting free stuff from our state governments?

4 Thats right. Not discrimination, just market forces. We treat everyone the same and women make less money. Gender reality. It isnt based on a law the government passed or people just paying women less because they hate them. It is based on their market value to the company.

5 I support a womens right to choose. I also support the right of the people of a state to make laws. Some people want to see how far they can go in limiting the reproductive freedom with laws to hinder abortions.

When you say discriminate I meant based on race or gender or something that shouldnt be allowed. As a single without kids I am discriminated against by the government, but I allow that for the good of the society I live in, I am opposed to laws that protect me because of my weight, as I believe them to be morally wrong.

<<<<4 There is no law that makes women get paid less. Mostly market forces.>>>>

You said "Mostly market forces." I asked you what other forces were at work. You have not supplied an answer as to what those other forces are. So I am left to conclude that sexism is one of those other forces. What say you?

How are you discriminated by being single and not having kids?

Saying "we do not go after Canadians" is not a false argument. The fact that one class is profiled and targeted based on their ethnicity is evidence of racism. The "degree" of the problem is irrelevant. The law is the law, is it not?

What about when states pass laws that conflict with Federal law?
5/6/2012 2:12 AM
There is of course some sexism. It isnt a major issue. The whole women make less is kind of an invented argument.

Single with no kids pay more taxes and get less breaks as a whole in society.

The Canadian issue is a huge false argument. If we find them we treat illegals from Canada the same as any other country, we just dont look for them as much because there are just a handful. Do we look for murderers in Fargo as much as we do in Detroit?

Supreme Court. The 14th Amendment upset the delicate balance between the states and Feds and lead us to where we are now.
