GAME 1 RECAP
In a display of power, the USC Trojans controlled the game from the half on. Behind
Paul Harrison and his 33 completions (for 351 yards and a touchdown) and
Bryan McClure's 2 TDs. In defeating the Cornhuskers, USC also had a dominant defense, forcing two fumbles, an interception, and knocking down 7 passes.
The Cornhuskers, led by sophomore
David Colon, just didn't have the ability to keep it close. After a 10-10 half, where Nebraska was arguably the better team, and Colon's second of two TD passes on their first possession of the second half, they were unable to score again, allowing 27 unanswered points to be put up by USC before the final whistle blew.
