Here is a thought kind of running on the old beliefs that make them still viable. If you have a deeper team, deep enough that some of your backups could be decent starters, then uptempo would still be viable, because while you might be getting tired quicker, you're bringing in an acceptable replacement.
Can anyone validate this?
Also, on the idea of trying to create fouls, I would only consider uptempo if you have a significant advantage athletically or through stamina.
