Except that that isn't why Brian vetoed it. Very early on he said i was not allowed to move those contacts, that i was stuck with them and that was my fault.

No I said if no else can make these trades why should you be able to?  I also said since you were vocal to veto similar deals this is another reason to veto this deal.  You need to live by the "rules" you put into place.  I did say its your fault you have those contracts no we should not bail you out for your mistakes if others are not allowed to do the same.  And you got arguably  the worst player in the trade.  You may need to learn how to evaluate players im not an expert but if I played as many seasons as you id hope I knew wtf I was doing by now.

I am on my phone so i cannot cut and paste - but what i posted was a direct quote from you.

Salary is irrelevant in Hamilton.   The ability of the players is GROSSLY disparate.
Ok then. Strongly disagree that salary has been deemed irrelevant.
Understood.  But trades, not the shitpile deal brian is yammering on about, that were largely salary dumps have been vetoed.   It is what it is.

- Making a trade involving $100M+ in contracts and having the budget depend on it being approved comes with risk. Huge piles of money moving among teams tends to attract vetoes. Such a deal is going to be vetoed by some owners regardless of circumstance or the player coming back.
- If one owner can conspire to get a deal vetoed, as tropicana claims 50 or 60 times in chat, the world has problems.
- As silentpadna points out in one of the few rational posts made over the past 5 pages of chat, owners can veto for whatever reason they wish. Assuming that deal will go through and having no recourse can backfire.

As to the original question of whether the trade would pass in any other worlds, it would. Not in all worlds, but many. Certainly it would be vetoed in enough that I'd consider the possibility before staking my team's future on it being approved.

And i assume the new owner won't be allowed to trade those players either just like you said i wasnt, right?

Like I said before if you are able to veto deals similar to this then other are able to veto them also.  Personally im all for these type of deals.  The problem is you have been vocal about not letting these type of trades happen in the past but now you try to pull one.

No, I opposed YOUR deal, which as MikeT so succinctly put in an earlier post, was a pile of excrement. So you should probably stop comparing the two, especially since there were people who posted on the forum who actually LIKED that deal for me.
8/27/2012 11:27 AM
And it doesn't address the question I asked, brian -- The new owner won't be able to trade those players either, right? Because you said the team was stuck with those players....And no matter what you say, when you said I was stuck with those players (out of spite, mind you, don't make it like you're some kind of altruistic person here, you're being a spiteful child) you said NOTHING about anyone else being able to do the same.
8/27/2012 11:28 AM
And considering the trades that were just accepted by the commissioner....there better be some vetos coming.

Why did I leave Hamilton?  Oh, yeah, now I remember.
FU.

8/27/2012 12:01 PM
Don't get me wrong.  I'm not badmouthing Hamilton.  It's a good world teetering on 'tarddom.   As I said in the world chat last season, it's steps two steps from being a top world but it's also two steps from 'tard city.   For me, it was always something.  Sometimes it was of my making but there was always 1-3 of these "incidents".   After 10 seasons, I'd had enough.   I think the change of commish will help but you've still got some of the same "element" that were part of the problem(as was I).
8/27/2012 1:03 PM
From the one season I spent there as a replacement owner, I would call it a 'tard world teettering on super'tarddom.

Or maybe that was just because I was there.  But it was pretty ****** up.  Threads like this don't help it's reputation.
8/27/2012 1:46 PM
Having been there for 10 seasons, I'd disagree.  The top 2/3 of that world could compete anywhere.   Unfortunately, the previous commish screened owners like a street whore screens "clients" so the other 1/3 might not be so good.   And when you play with the inexperienced, you have to(or should) deal with them a little differently.   A handful of owners didn't buy into that.  So, every season, there were 1-3 of these.
8/27/2012 3:12 PM
And now they have a narc.   I may be siding with tec in no time at all.
