No. Random. Just like the various responses within a cycle for visits and scouting trips.

I do know that you can get more than one "type" of reply during the same time period (ahead, tied, behind) ... I don't know exactly HOW that happens and if it is random, etc.

BTW girt, I am not disagreeing with you that using those responses is not the way to go ... offer a scholarship and take out any doubt is certainly the right action.

And, I am also not 100% sure what is happening either, it most certainly could be random to get a "good" response and a "bad" response during the same time period.  The only real way to determine which is newer and which is older is to use the MessageID number ... assuming that messageid goes chronologically. (I am not sure if messageid IS ACTUALLY chronological, but it makes sense that it would be)

I just assumed that the replies have meaning when they are sent (and therefore indicate the recruit's standing at the time when that specific effort is processed) and that you can not determine when that action is processed in relation to another team's efforts.  That would render the mail accurate at the time it is sent and also not worth anything if someone else's actions are processed after you ... thus making something else (ie, the scholarship e-mail or FSS) required to get  real standing.

To me, it does not make any sense at all to send an e-mail that is not accurate when it is generated, though other things that do not make sense certainly DO HAPPEN, so who knows for sure.
