The reason I ask is because I used to enjoy playing poker several years ago. I played two or three times a week at the local casino and was there to have fun, which I did. I considered any money I made to be a bonus because I enjoyed the game that much.
Then I noticed a few trends about many poker players that made me want to avoid their company, so I stopped playing. This doesn't mean all poker players are what I'm about to describe (as I certainly am not) but a decent amount of them are.
Most poker players in my experience thought they were really good or even great at playing poker, regardless of their actual skill level. Most of them thought they were better than other people in general. They were arrogant and rude much of the time. They would have a strong tendency to gloat any time they won a hand, no matter how badly they actually played the hand in question. Many bragged of winning money at poker nearly every time they sat down to play, with some saying they made a living doing it, and NO ONE ever admitted to playing despite continuously losing over time (which I'm sure some do).
In short, most poker players are arrogant *** holes I don't want to associate with, which is the main reason I no longer play poker. Again, no reflection on poker players here because it's not every poker player, but it was enough of them I didn't want to deal with it anymore.
