That's something to consider, but I think it could be overcome. Perhaps recruiting extends slightly past the end of the season and you can try to get in late on junior college guys or something. Maybe a certain # of JUCOs could be predisposed to sign late, or when you call the coach unless you're an elite program that he says the player doens't want to think about that right now.

That's what several teams are doing right now. Arizona State lost several transfers and a player to early entry but signed two highly touted JUCOs. To some extent I think it's how the real world is, but I do understand why a coach would like to have at least a solid potential solution to the problem should it arise. But you have 12 scholarships, so it shouldn't hurt if you don't end up being able to fill 1-2 of them, and it leaves htem open to potential sign someone better the next year than you would have playing catch up. Another strategic choice that might differ by coach.

On Seble's post- does this mean all guys listed at "PG" get my formula X, or can I set each player to a specific formula.  (And I'm not clear if this is recruiting or on your team page... or depth chart?

Have freshman appear on your roster as soon as they commit to your school.  This would give you a lot more time to set your depth chart, practice minutes, and player distro before the first scrimmage.  Seems like every year I have to scramble to get all those things done in the few hours between when players show up and the scrimmage takes place.
I like this idea! And it doesn't SEEM like it'd be terribly difficult to implement.
I also agree with this. Would help tremendously and also keep interest if you get your commits on the first day of signing and avoid that inevitable scramble like clouse spoke of.
