I saw that, and as much as I wanted to try something different, there were many more viable options in round 2 for my other ideas than there would be for a SS. I toyed with using a homegrown SS, but the allure of a .380+ guy with A range was too great.

I was going to take Appling if you didn't. Given the loss of Vance, I will grab Russ Ford from the Yankees / Highlanders.

I was torn between McNally and Vance and basically flipped a coin. Good choice.
